  1. 16. Information and interaction : influencing drug prescribing in Swedish primary care

    Author : Cecilia Stålsby Lundborg; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : general practitioners; prescribing; knowledge and attitudes; educational interventions; urinary tract infection; asthma; guidelines; randomised controlled trial; phenomenography;

    Abstract : Aim: The studies concern drug information and continuing education on drug treatment, focusing on doctors' prescribing in primary care in Sweden. The long-term aim has been to develop educational models accepted by the doctors, and to develop and apply means of evaluating the education. READ MORE

  2. 17. Technology-enhanced formative assessment in higher education : An intervention design of scaffolding student self-regulated learning

    Author : Bernard Bahati; Uno Fors; Preben Hansen; Evode Mukama; Annika Lantz-Andersson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Technology-enhanced learning; formative e-assessment; self-regulated learning; blended learning; Information Society; informationssamhället;

    Abstract : As online learning is increasingly adopted in higher education institutions, many instructors are faced with the challenges of devising and implementing effective pedagogical practices that advance student learning. One of the challenges points to the design and development of assessment activities that truly inform the teaching and learning process. READ MORE

  3. 18. Live Streaming in P2P and Hybrid P2P-Cloud Environments for the Open Internet

    Author : Amir H. Payberah; Seif Haridi; Anwitaman Datta; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Peer-to-Peer (P2P) live media streaming is an emerging technology that reduces the barrier to stream live events over the Internet. However, providing a high quality media stream using P2P overlay networks is challenging and gives raise to a number of issues: (i) how to guarantee quality of the service (QoS) in the presence of dynamism, (ii) how to incentivize nodes to participate in media distribution, (iii) how to avoid bottlenecks in the overlay, and (iv) how to deal with nodes that reside behind Network Address Translators gateways (NATs). 4. 19. Implementation of a behavioural medicine approach in physiotherapy : Determinants, clinical behaviours, patient outcomes and the implementation process

    Author : Johanna Fritz; Maria Sandborgh; Anne Söderlund; Lena Almqvist; Lars Wallin; Siw Carlfjord; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; behaviour change; behaviour medicine; determinants; implementation; musculoskeletal pain; physiotherapy; primary health care; process evaluation; sustainability; beteendeförändring: beteendemedicin; determinanter; fysioterapi; implementering; muskuloskeletal smärta; primärvård; processutvärdering; vidmakthållande; fysioterapi; Physiotherapy;

    Abstract : Current research shows that a behavioural medicine approach in physiotherapy increases the ability to participate in daily activities and decreases sick leave in patients with persistent musculoskeletal pain. A behavioural medicine approach means that the physiotherapist systematically considers biopsychosocial factors of importance for the patient's activity and participation. READ MORE

  5. 20. Learning physics with Controllable Worlds : Perspectives for examining and augmenting physics students' engagement with digital learning environments

    Author : Elias Euler; Bor Gregorcic; Cedric Linder; Michael C. Wittmann; Uppsala universitet; []

    Abstract : In this thesis I present a collection of case studies involving small groups of participants using ‘Controllable Worlds’—i.e., a particular class of physics digital learning environment (DLE) including simulations, ‘microworlds,’ and educational games that provides users with control over manipulable virtual environments.
