1. Striking movements : movement strategies and expression in percussive playing
Abstract : This thesis concerns two aspects of movement and performancein percussion playing, First, the playing of an accent, asimple but much used and practised element in drumming, andsecond; the perception and communication of specific emotionalintentions through movements during performances onmarimba.Papers I and II investigated the execution andinterpretation of an accent performed for different playingconditions. 2. A Co-Simulation Approach for Hydraulic Percussion Units
Abstract : This Licentiate of Engineering thesis concerns modelling and simulation of hydraulic percussion units. These units are often found in equipment for breaking or drilling in rock and concrete, and are also often driven by oil hydraulics, in which complex fluid-structure couplings are essential for their operation. 3. Hole deviations in percussion drilling and control measures : theoretical and field studies
Abstract : In this thesis, we study the problem of hole deviations in percussive drilling and present a solution to minimize the deviations. Field tests are performed to study the interactive behaviour of drilling parameters. READ MORE

4. A Co-Simulation Tool Applied to Hydraulic Percussion Units
Abstract : In this dissertation, a co-simulation tool is presented that is meant to comprise a more comprehensive environment for modelling and simulation of hydraulic percussion units, which are used in hydraulic hammers and rock drills. These units generates the large impact forces, which are needed to demolish concrete structures in the construction industry or to fragment rock when drilling blast holes in mine drifting. READ MORE

5. The Role of Cyclooxygenase-2 in Models of Epilepsy and Traumatic Brain Injury : Effects of Selective Cyclooxygenase-2 Inhibitors
Abstract : Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) catalyses prostaglandin synthesis from arachidonic acid during inflammation. COX-2 is expressed in the normal brain and is induced in neurological disorders. There is evidence that COX-2 is involved in secondary events leading to cell death in the brain. READ MORE
