1. Homogenization in Perforated Domains
Abstract : Homogenization theory is the study of the asymptotic behaviour of solutionsto partial differential equations where high frequency oscillations occur. In the case of a perforated domain the oscillations are due to variations in thedomain of the equation. READ MORE

3. Homogenization Results for Parabolic and Hyperbolic-Parabolic Problems and Further Results on Homogenization in Perforated Domains
Abstract : This thesis is based on four papers. The main focus is on homogenization of selected parabolic problems with time oscillations, and hyperbolic-parabolic problems without time oscillations. The approaches are prepared by means of certain methods, such as two-scale convergence, multiscale convergence and evolution multiscale convergence. READ MORE

4. Pressure-driven flows in thin and porous domains
Abstract : The present thesis is devoted to the derivation of Darcy's law for incompressible viscous fluid flows in perforated and thin domains by means of homogenization techniques. The problem of describing asymptotic flows in porous/thin domains occurs in the study of various physical phenomena such as filtration in sandy soils, blood circulation in capillaries, lubrication and heationg/cooling processes. 5. Some new Friedrichs-type inequalities in domains with microinhomogeneous structure
Abstract : This Licentiate thesis is devoted to derive and discuss some new Friedrichs-type inequalities for functions, which belong to the Sobolev space $H^1$ in domains with microinhomogeneous structure and which vanish on a part of the boundary. The classical Friedrics inequality holds for functions from the space $\mathop{H^{\smash 1}}\limits^{\circ}$ with a constant depending only on the measure of the domain. READ MORE
