  1. 1. Performance Indicators. A performance prediction method for moisture safety design

    Author : Veronica Yverås; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Keywords : Artificial Neural Network; Performance prediction; Moisture safety;

    Abstract : The aims of this research project is to develop and gain knowledge about a different approach to moisture safety design based on AI in order to attain healthy buildings and relate this new approach to current practice and prospective users. Secondary data (data produced for some other purpose) was used to train Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) to predict the performance of outdoor ventilated crawl-spaces regarding microbiological smell, mould and rot. 2. 2. Performance Metrics for Sustainability Value

    Author : David Sundfors; Hans Lind; Abukar Warsame; Stefan Olander; KTH; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fastigheter och byggande; Real Estate and Construction Management;

    Abstract : The trend that started with Green Building has moved on into Sustainable Building. But how do we know that something is really sustainable? This project started out with the intention to find a small set of performance indicators for commercial buildings, which could be continuously measured and monitored over time, which would give a good indication of the level of sustainability of the building and as such, and be presented as an additional part in a valuation. 3. 3. Integrated Control of Heat Pumps

    Author : Fredrik Karlsson; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; variable speed compressor; superheat; electronic expansion valve; optimisation; performance indication; control; heat pump; energy efficiency;

    Abstract : The purpose of the work presented in this thesis is to investigate the potential and prerequisites for improved energy efficiency of heat pump systems using efficient components and proper methods for optimisation of operation. The background is that several investigations have reported on possibilities for increased energy efficiency of heat pumps if variable-speed capacity control is used instead of conventional on/off control. 4. 4. Physical performance, physical activity, body composition and exercise training in adults with congenital heart disease

    Author : Camilla Sandberg; Bengt Johansson; Karin Wadell; Lena Jonasson; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Adult congenital heart disease; physical performance; physical activity; body composition; exercise training; sjukgymnastik; Physiotherapy;

    Abstract : Background Adults with congenital heart disease (CHD) is a growing population and related to advances in surgical and medical treatment, they now outnumber the children with corresponding lesions. Since a congenital heart lesion often results in reduced exercise capacity, this population is a potential target for physiotherapy. READ MORE

  5. 5. Rock Mass Characterisation Using Drill Performance Monitoring : Problems, Analysis challenges and Limitations

    Author : Rajib Ghosh; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Drift och underhållsteknik; Operation and Maintenance;

    Abstract : In open pit mining, it is important to know as much information as possible about rock masses to be mined for more cost-effective mining operation. In rock engineering perspective, information about rock mass characteristics usually includes hardness of the rock, geological features, fractures, faults, ore contacts, water bearing stratum.
