6. Method Development in Quantitative and Structural Proteomics using Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance Mass Spectrometry
Abstract : In this thesis, methods for studying different aspects of proteomics were developed with Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance, (FTICR), mass spectrometry. The FTICR technique provides ultra-high mass resolving power, mass accuracy at sub ppm level and sensitivity in the attomole region. READ MORE

7. Multiplexed absolute quantification of blood plasma proteins using targeted proteomics
Abstract : Proteins are the molecular building blocks of all living organisms. They are the functioning actors in metabolism and communication, and they give specific architecture and purpose to all tissues. Their abundance is dynamic and can be interpreted and associated to different physiological states or diseases. READ MORE

8. Investigation of Vapor Ejectors in Heat Driven Ejector Refrigeration Systems
Abstract : Refrigeration systems, air-conditioning units and heat pumps have been recognized as indispensable machines in human life, and are used for e.g. food storage, provision of thermal comfort. These machines are dominated by the vapor compression refrigeration system and consume a large percentage of world-wide electricity output. READ MORE

9. Methodological aspects of quantitative cardiac molecular imaging
Abstract : The objective of this research was to facilitate the use of quantitative cardiac molecular imaging by developing and validating methods and applications. More specifically:we determined the optimal tracer kinetic model for analysis of 11C-PIB and evaluated the performance of two simpler measures, retention index (RI) and standardized uptake value (SUV), in the quantification of cardiac 11C-PIB uptake in amyloidosis. 10. Early Stage Architectural Design Practice Perspectives on Life Cycle Building Performance Assessment
Abstract : Architectural practitioners can avoid negative social and environmental impacts of new construction by making decisions supported by impact quantification during design processes. However, most software tools developed for such quantification see little use in practice, especially in early design stages when decisions have the greatest influence. READ MORE
