  1. 1. Nonlinear Approaches to Periodic Signal Modeling

    Author : Emad Abd-Elrady; Torsten Söderström; Torbjörn Wigren; Jonas Sjöberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Cramer-Rao bounds; frequency estimation; identification; limit cycle; nonlinear systems; periodic signals; Wiener model structure; Signal processing; Signalbehandling; Signalbehandling; Signal Processing;

    Abstract : Periodic signal modeling plays an important role in different fields. The unifying theme of this thesis is using nonlinear techniques to model periodic signals. The suggested techniques utilize the user pre-knowledge about the signal waveform. This gives these techniques an advantage as compared to others that do not consider such priors. READ MORE

  2. 2. A Study on Sandwich Structures : Development, Mechanical Characterization and Numerical Modeling

    Author : Samuel Hammarberg; Pär Jonsén; Jörgen Kajberg; Simon Larsson; Dan Zenkert; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Ultra-High Strength Steel; UHSS; Sandwich; Micro-sandwich; Hybrix; Modeling; Composite; Hållfasthetslära; Solid Mechanics;

    Abstract : Legislative demands force the automotive industry to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. At the same time, crashworthiness must not be compromised. A ve-hicle’s GHG emissions, such as carbon dioxide, is dependent on its fuel consump-tion. Lowering the vehicle weight, reducing fuel consumption, will therefor reduce emissions. READ MORE

  3. 3. A pseudoparabolic reaction-diffusion-mechanics system : Modeling, analysis and simulation

    Author : Arthur Vromans; Adrian Muntean; Martin Lind; Mohammad Asadzadeh; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; reaction-diffusion-mechanics model; parameter delimitation; parabolic-pseudoparabolic equations; weak solvability; Rothe method; periodic homogenization; Matematik; Mathematics;

    Abstract : In this thesis, parabolic-pseudoparabolic equations are derived coupling chemical reactions, diffusion, flow and mechanics in a heterogeneous medium using the framework of mixture theory. The weak solvability in 1-D of the obtained models is studied. READ MORE

  4. 4. Linear Time-Varying Systems: Modeling and Reduction

    Author : Henrik Sandberg; Anders Rantzer; Alexandre Megretski; Institutionen för reglerteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; linear time-varying; model reduction; balanced truncation; error bounds; power converters; harmonics; periodic modeling; inverter locomotive; linear time-varying; model reduction; balanced truncation; error bounds; power converters; periodic modeling; harmonics; inverter locomotive;

    Abstract : Linear time-invariant models are widely used in the control community. They often serve as approximations of nonlinear systems. For control purposes linear approximations are often good enough since feedback control systems are inherently robust to model errors. In this thesis some of the possibilities for linear time-varying modeling are studied. READ MORE

  5. 5. Radio Channel Prediction Based on Parametric Modeling

    Author : Ming Chen; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Wireless communications; channel prediction; GLRT; CRLB; NLLS; polynomial phase signal; Kalman filter; NILS.; sinusoidal modeling; channel modeling; MIMO;

    Abstract : Long range channel prediction is a crucial technology for future wireless communications. The prediction of Rayleigh fading channels is studied in the frame of parametric modeling in this thesis.Suggested by the Jakes model for Rayleigh fading channels,deterministic sinusoidal models were adopted for long rangechannel prediction in early works.
