  1. 1. Regeneration in periodontal and endosseous implant treatment

    Author : Lisa Mayfield; Lunds universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Odontology; guided tissue regeneration; Pressure sensitive periodontal probe; intraosseous defects; guided bone regeneration; EDTA root surface conditioning; bioabsorbable membrane; stomatology; Odontologi;

    Abstract : In a series of clinical studies regenerative procedures for periodontal disease treatment were evaluated. A reproducibility study of probing measurements using a manual periodontal probe and 3 pressure-sensitive probes showed that measurements obtained using the manual probe were the most repeatable. 2. 2. In vitro wound healing characteristics of amelogenins

    Author : Sofia Almqvist; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; amelogenins; extracellular matrix; cell culture; macrophage; fibroblast; endothelial cell; integrin; cytokine; inflammation; wound healing tissue repair;

    Abstract : Wound healing involves the co-ordinated actions of several cell types, soluble cell mediators and extracellular matrix (ECM). This research project intended to investigate the role of certain ECM proteins in different processes during tissue repair by studying the interaction between dermal cells and ECM. READ MORE

  3. 3. Root surface conditioning in periodontal treatment

    Author : Johan Blomlöf; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : citric acid; collagen; EDTL; etching; monkey; periodontal healing; periodolntitis; phosphoric acid; root planing; scanning electron microscopy; smearlayer; ultrasonic scaling; vitality. ISBN: 91-628-2646-8;

    Abstract : Marginal periodontal healing following both invasive and non-invasive therapies is influenced by a large number of systemic and local factors. In order to optimize healing, a lot of effort is put into minimizing possible sources of infection both in performing different periodontal therapies as well as during the healing period. READ MORE

  4. 4. On approaches to periodontal infection control

    Author : Cristiano Tomasi; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The purpose of the project was to gain understanding of clinical possibilities and applicability of non-surgical periodontal therapy. A clinical study was designed to compare a full-mouth ultrasonic debridement approach with the traditional approach of consecutive sessions of quadrant-wise scaling/root planing with respect to the clinical outcome and long term stability. 5. 5. Peri-implantitis and periodontitis. Experimental and clinical studies

    Author : Olivier Carcuac; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; dental implant; animal experiment; biopsy; radiology; histology; immunohistochemistry; inflammation; peri-implant disease; periodontal disease; treatment; systemic antibiotics; antiseptics;

    Abstract : Peri-implantitis is an increasing problem in implant dentistry. The current series of studies employed a translational approach with the aim to compare peri-implantitis and periodontitis lesions and evaluate the influence of implant surface characteristics and the adjunctive use of systemic antibiotics/local antiseptics on healing following surgical treatment of peri-implantitis.
