  1. 1. Västsvensk petroleumindustri 1945-2000 : etablering och tillväxt

    Author : Kurt Johnsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; technological systems; petroleum industry; fuel refinery; innovation; institution; industrial network; petrochemicals;

    Abstract : The purpose of the study has been to describe and analyse the establishment and growth of the petroleum industry in western Sweden during the second half of the twentieth century. Empirical data shows that the development of refineries has in large part been governed by environmental changes where belonging to an international concern with large financial resources, and a determined investment in FoU in order to be at the forefront, has been advantageous. 2. 2. Interaction between defossilisation of basic industries and relocation : Scenario-based explorative and normative transition pathways to electrification for European basic industries and specific clusters

    Author : Clemens Schneider; Miljö- och energisystem; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; steel; petrochemicals; defossilisation; climate-neutral production; electrification; industry clusters;

    Abstract : The steel and chemical production industries are the largest industrial emitters of greenhouse gases in the European Union, together accounting for half of the EU’s industrial greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. A promising strategy for achieving deep GHG emissions reductions is the electrification of these two industries, which would depend on the rapid expansion of renewable electricity supply. READ MORE

  3. 3. Partial CO2 capture to facilitate cost-efficient deployment of carbon capture and storage in process industries - Deliberations on process design, heat integration, and carbon allocation

    Author : Max Biermann; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; carbon allocation; Partial CO2 capture; process industry; techno-economic assessment; CCS; heat recovery; amine absorption;

    Abstract : Climate change requires that all energy-related sectors reduce drastically their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, at a global rate of 1–2 GtCO2 per year, starting now. Process industries, such as the iron and steel, cement, petrochemical, and oil-refining industries, are inherently carbon-intensive, and carbon capture and storage (CCS) is one of the few options available to achieve the required deep reductions in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. 4. 4. Effect of high-pressure cooling on the residual stress in Ti-alloys during machining

    Author : Manouchehr Vosough; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Manufacturing Systems Engineering; Produktionsutveckling;

    Abstract : Titanium alloys are widely used in aerospace industry but also in other industry sectors. Details for compressors used for generation and petrochemical plants and medical devices can be mentioned as a few examples. Plastic deformation during forming of the metals introduces residual stresses. READ MORE

  5. 5. Aqueous graphene dispersions for paper packaging

    Author : Wei Zhao; Anwar Ahniyaz; Abhilash Sugunan; Thomas Gillgren; Johan A. Larsson; Zhi-Bin Zhang; Shi-Li Zhang; Valeria Nicolosi; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Graphene; Aqueous graphene dispersions; Noncovalent interactions; Composites; Barriers; Inkjet printing; Kemi med inriktning mot kemisk fysik; Chemistry with specialization in Chemical Physics;

    Abstract : Graphene is widely touted as the thinnest and the most versatile material available. As an atomically thin layer of carbon atoms arranged in a hexagonal configuration, graphene has a combination of technologically important properties, such as thermal and electrical conductivity, mechanical strength, and impermeability to gases.
