  1. 1. Levels of organohalogen compounds in White-tailed sea eagles (Haliaeetus albicilla) in relation to reproduction impairment in the Bothnian Sea

    Author : Ulrika Nordlöf; Lillemor Asplund; Björn Helander; Yngve Zebuhr; Michael Mclachlan; Roland Kallenborn; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Applied Environmental Science; tillämpad miljövetenskap;

    Abstract : The white-tailed sea eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla) is in the top of the marine food chain and its existence in Sweden has been threatened several times. The species succeeded to recover from the deep decline in the 1970s when the exposure to persistent organic pollutants influenced the reproduction negatively. READ MORE

  2. 2. Climate vulnerability assessment methodology : Agriculture under climate change in the Nordic region

    Abstract : Background Exhaustion disorder (ED) is a common mental and behavioural disorder which often leads to severe negative consequences for the individual and the society. Natural environments have positive effects on mental, physiological and attentional recovery in stressed persons, which encouraged us to test if forest visits could improve recovery from ED. 4. 4. Geochemical and mineralogical laboratory methods in waste rock drainage quality prediction

    Author : Teemu Karlsson; Lena Alakangas; Päivi Kauppila; Andrew Barnes; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Extractive waste characterisation; drainage water; ARD; NRD; ABA test; NAG test; SEM; Applied Geochemistry; Tillämpad geokemi;

    Abstract : Harmful substances containing acid or neutral rock drainages (ARD and NRD) are a major challenge related to the management of extractive industry wastes. This issue is particularly related to deposits containing sulphide minerals, which are prone to oxidization under the influence of atmospheric oxygen and water. READ MORE

  5. 5. Improving the understanding of cloud radiative heating
