1. Additive-Driven Improvements in Interfacial Properties and Processing of TMP-Polymer Composites
Abstract : Efforts to address environmental concerns have resulted in new regulations designed to plan the reduction of plastic and synthetic polymer usage, necessitating the search for sustainable natural alternatives with comparable cost-effectiveness and mechanical performance. Thermomechanical pulp (TMP) fibres are one of the most affordable natural fibres that have no chemical refining in production, production have a high yield of 90-98% and TMP fibres have been demonstrated to improve the mechanical characteristics (strength, stiffness and toughness) of wood-polymer composites (WPCs) compared to the pure polymer. 2. Lipid-based liquid crystals as drug delivery vehicles for antimicrobial peptides
Abstract : The development of antimicrobial resistance is a great challenge within the health sector around the world. The demand for new efficient treatments is alarming in order to treat various bacterial infections in the near future. Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) are a group of novel antibiotics that have gain more and more attraction the past decade. READ MORE

3. Investigating polymorphism in small molecules using three-dimensional electron diffraction
Abstract : For scientific, regulatory and intellectual property reasons, the discovery and characterisation of polymorphic systems is an integral aspect of the development process of any solid-formulated drug product. Yet, these studies are often hindered by crystal quality and size, poor yields and the generation of mixtures of phases. READ MORE

4. From Polysaccharides to Functional Materials for Trace Pharmaceutical Adsorption
Abstract : The transition to bioeconomy will reduce our dependency on fossil fuels as well as contribute to a more sustainable society. Within this framework, exploitation and development of renewable substitutes to petroleum-based products provides feasible roadmap for the material design. READ MORE

5. Pharmaceutical Nanocomposites : Structure–Mobility–Functionality Relationships in the Amorphous State
Abstract : Amorphous materials are found in pharmaceutical formulations both as excipients and active ingredients. Indeed, these formulations are becoming an essential strategy for incorporating drugs into well-performing solid dosage forms. READ MORE
