1. Characterization of the antinociceptive effects of morphine and its glucuronides : Pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic modeling
Abstract : Pharmacodynamic modeling was used to quantify the time aspects of theantinociceptive effect in rats following administration of morphine, morphine-3-glucuronide (M3G) and morphine-glucuronide (M6G). M6G acts as a potentagonist of morphine actions, whereas the pharmacodynamic role of M3G has beenunclear. READ MORE

2. Pharmacokinetic studies on cladribine
Abstract : The aims of the present study were to delineate the pharmacokinetics, in plasma and leukaemia cells, of cladribine (M), and to describe factors influencing the outcome of administration of CdA in order to individualize and optimize treatment. CdA is a nucleoside analogue with a cytotoxic activity in low-grade lymphoproliferative disorders and childhood acute myelogenous leukaemia. READ MORE

4. Direct Thrombin Inhibitors in Treatment and Prevention of Venous Thromboembolism: Dose – Concentration – Response Relationships
Abstract : For prevention and treatment of thrombotic diseases with an anticoagulant drug it is important that an adequate dose is given to avoid occurrence or recurrence of thrombosis, without increasing the risk of bleeding and other adverse events to unacceptable levels. The aim of this thesis was to develop mathematical models that describe the dose-concentration (pharmacokinetic) and concentration-response (pharmacodynamic) relationships of direct thrombin inhibitors, in order to estimate optimal dosages for treatment and long-term secondary prevention of venous thromboembolism (VTE). 5. Safety and Efficacy Modelling in Anti-Diabetic Drug Development
Abstract : A central aim in drug development is to ensure that the new drug is efficacious and safe in the intended patient population. Mathematical models describing the pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic (PK-PD) properties of a drug are valuable to increase the knowledge about drug effects and disease and can be used to inform decisions.
