6. Structure evolution of phase-separated EC/HPC films for controlled drug release
Abstract : Porous phase-separated ethylcellulose/hydroxypropylcellulose (EC/HPC) films are used to control drug transport out of pharmaceutical pellets. The drug transport rate is determined by the structure of the porous films that are formed as the water-soluble HPC leaches out. READ MORE

7. Phase Separation and Gelation of Biopolymers in Confined Geometries
Abstract : Many biopolymer mixtures exhibit segregative phase separation that generates regions enriched in one polymer and depleted in the other. Today, much is known of how phase separating biopolymer systems behaves in bulk phase, and the final morphology can be controlled and tailored with high precision. READ MORE

8. Ultra precision metrology : the key for mask lithography and manufacturing of high definition displays
Abstract : Metrology is the science of measurement. It is also a prerequisite for maintaining a high quality in all manufacturing processes. In this thesis we will present the demands and solutions for ultra-precision metrology in the manufacturing of lithography masks for the TV-display industry. READ MORE

9. Structure Evolution during Phase Separation and Gelation of Biopolymer Mixtures
Abstract : This thesis focuses on the kinetics of phase separation and gelation in aqueous mixtures of gelatin and maltodextrin. The structure evolution of these mixtures at different length scales was recorded by confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The microstructure was quantified by image analysis. READ MORE

10. MAX phase thin films : unique multifunctional ceramics with the elements Ti, Si, Ge, Sn, and C
Abstract : Mn+1AXn phases are ternary carbides or nitrides (X) consisting of an early transition metal (M), and (A)- group element (group III-V). They combine ceramic and metallic properties with high oxidation and thermal shock resistance as well as low resistivity. READ MORE
