  1. 1. Coordination of Phosphine-Thioether Ligands to Low-valent Metal Centers

    Author : Roger Persson; Kemisk fysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; polynuclear metal complexes; fluxional behavior; cluster; thioether; phosphine; crystal structure; sulfur; triosmium;

    Abstract : The reactivity of the phosphine-thioether ligands bis(2-diphenylphosphino) ethylthio)ethane (PSSP), bis(2-(diphenylphosphino) ethyl)sulfane (PSP), PPh2CH2CH2SMe (PS), PPh2(o-C6H4SMe (PortoS), and PPh(o-C6H4SMe)2 (PSS) towards low-valent carbonyl clusters has been studied. In all structurally characterized clusters, the ligand donor atoms are terminally coordinated. READ MORE

  2. 2. Synthesis and Applications of P-chirogenic Phosphine Boranes

    Author : Magnus Johansson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; cytisine; gold I catalysis lipase; P-chirogenic; desymmetrization; phosphine; enantioselective cyclopropanation. enantioselective deprotonation; chirality; asymmetric synthesis; borane;

    Abstract : AbstractThis thesis reports the independent synthesis of both enantiomers of P-chirogenic phosphine ligands and the building blocks thereof, which are suitable for parallel synthesis efforts and for the generation of more diverse libraries of P-chirogenic compound. The use of P-chirogenic phosphine boranes in transition metal-catalyzed reactions, such as palladium-catalyzed allylic alkylation and amination, is also described. READ MORE

  3. 3. Asymmetric Hydrogenations : Syntheses of Ligands and Expansion of Substrate Scope

    Author : Pradeep Cheruku; Pher Andesson; Jay Siegel; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Catalysis; Asymmetric; Hydrogenations; Reductions; Olefins; Imines; Enol phosphinates; Transition metal; Complexes; Iridium; Enamines; Ruthenium; Ligands; Trifluoromethyl; Diphenylvinylphosphine oxides; Vinyl phosphonates; Chemistry; Kemi;

    Abstract : Asymmetric hydrogenation has emerged as a versatile methodology to obtain a wide range of chiral precursors. This thesis focused on the synthesis of new chiral ligands and the expansion of the substrate scope of asymmetric hydrogenations. READ MORE

  4. 4. Metallacyclic Phosphine Complexes and Intramolecular Csp3-H Bond Activation -Synthesis, Characterisation and Catalytic Application

    Author : Sven Sjövall; Kemiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; catalysis; Heck; diphosphite; diphosphine; phosphine; cyclometallation; C-C activation; C-O activation; C-H activation; palladium; rhodium; iridium; Inorganic chemistry; Oorganisk kemi;

    Abstract : The work presented in this thesis deals with metallacyclic late transition metal complexes, obtained by intramolecular Csp3-H activation, and the application of such compounds in catalysis. The new hemilabile P,O phosphines N-methyl-N-propionyl-2-(diphenylphosphino)benzylamine (DPPAM), o-(diphenylphosphino)benzoic acid ethyl ester (DPPES), o-(diphenylphosphino)benzoic acid methyl ether (DPPET) and ±-1-(2- diphenylphosphino)phenylethyl propionate (±-DPPMES) and the symmetrical diphosphorus donor ligands cis-1,3-bis[(diphenylphosphino)methyl]-cyclohexane (DPCY), cis-1,3-bis[(di-tertbutylphosphino)methyl]cyclohexane (DTBCY) and cis-1,3-bis[(di-isopropylphosphino)methyl]cyclohexane (DIPCY) have been synthesised, allowing the preparation of a range of new metallacyclic rhodium(III), iridium(III) and palladium(II) complexes. 5. 5. Synthesis and Applications of P-Chirogenic and Axially Chiral P,N-Phosphines as Ligands and Organocatalyst

    Author : Kristian Andersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; phosphoramidite; organocatalysis; aminophosphine; Nicholas reaction; asymmetric synthesis; phosphine; asymmetric hydrogenation; modular synthesis; P-chirogenic;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with the enantioselective synthesis of chiral mixed phosphorous/nitrogen compounds and some of their applications in asymmetric synthesis. For the most part, the compounds are P-chirogenic, with the chirality centered on the phosphorous atom. The last part of the thesis deals with axially chiral phosphoramidites. READ MORE
