6. A Catalytic and Mechanistic Investigation of Palladium-Phosphine Catalysed Aqueous Hydroxycarbonylation. Steric and Electronic Properties of the Ligands
Abstract : The steric and electronic properties of eight water-soluble phosphines (1-8) were investigated by different methods. Phosphines 1-6 were tested as ligands in palladium catalysed hydroxycarbonylation of styrene. READ MORE

7. Synthesis and Applications of P-Chirogenic and Axially Chiral P,N-Phosphines as Ligands and Organocatalyst
Abstract : This thesis deals with the enantioselective synthesis of chiral mixed phosphorous/nitrogen compounds and some of their applications in asymmetric synthesis. For the most part, the compounds are P-chirogenic, with the chirality centered on the phosphorous atom. The last part of the thesis deals with axially chiral phosphoramidites. READ MORE

8. Synthesis and Evaluation of N,P-Chelating Ligands in Asymmetric Transition-Metal-Catalyzed Reactions : Ir-Catalyzed Asymmetric Hydrogenation and Pd-Catalyzed Asymmetric Intermolecular Heck Reaction
Abstract : This thesis describes synthesis of new chiral N,P ligands and their evaluation in two types of asymmetric transition-metal catalyzed reactions. The first part of the thesis describes studies in iridium-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation. READ MORE

9. Coordination of Phosphine-Thioether Ligands to Low-valent Metal Centers
Abstract : The reactivity of the phosphine-thioether ligands bis(2-diphenylphosphino) ethylthio)ethane (PSSP), bis(2-(diphenylphosphino) ethyl)sulfane (PSP), PPh2CH2CH2SMe (PS), PPh2(o-C6H4SMe (PortoS), and PPh(o-C6H4SMe)2 (PSS) towards low-valent carbonyl clusters has been studied. In all structurally characterized clusters, the ligand donor atoms are terminally coordinated. READ MORE

10. Asymmetric Hydrogenations : Syntheses of Ligands and Expansion of Substrate Scope
Abstract : Asymmetric hydrogenation has emerged as a versatile methodology to obtain a wide range of chiral precursors. This thesis focused on the synthesis of new chiral ligands and the expansion of the substrate scope of asymmetric hydrogenations. READ MORE
