  1. 1. Self-adaptable catalysts Importance of flexibility and applications in asymmetric catalysis

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH

    Author : Ester Fjellander; KTH.; [2010]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; adaptable; flexible; semi-flexible; symmetry; conformational study; mechanistic study; rotation barrier; VT NMR; asymmetric catalysis; ligand design; allylic alkylation; hydrogenation; azepines; dioxaphosphepines; phosphepines; amines; phosphines; phosphoramidites; phosphinites; palladium; rhodium; NATURAL SCIENCES Chemistry Organic chemistry; NATURVETENSKAP Kemi Organisk kemi;

    Abstract : The topic of this thesis is the design and synthesis of biaryl-based self adaptableligands for asymmetric metal catalysis. The results discussed in papers I-III are covered, together with some unpublished results concerning substrate-adaptable catalysts. A general survey of self-adaptable catalysts is presented first. 2. 2. Synthesis and Applications of P-Chirogenic and Axially Chiral P,N-Phosphines as Ligands and Organocatalyst

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH

    Author : Kristian Andersson; [2011]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; phosphoramidite; organocatalysis; aminophosphine; Nicholas reaction; asymmetric synthesis; phosphine; asymmetric hydrogenation; modular synthesis; P-chirogenic;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with the enantioselective synthesis of chiral mixed phosphorous/nitrogen compounds and some of their applications in asymmetric synthesis. For the most part, the compounds are P-chirogenic, with the chirality centered on the phosphorous atom. The last part of the thesis deals with axially chiral phosphoramidites. READ MORE

  3. 3. METAL CARBONYL MEDIATED REACTIONS - APPLICATIONS IN THE SYNTHESIS OF POTENTIAL GALECTIN INHIBITORS

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH

    Author : Nuria Parera Pera; [2008]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : AbstractThis work reports the development of an asymmetric version of the Nicholas reaction using monodentate phosphoramidites as ligands, which enables asymmetric synthesis from racemic starting material. In addition, we describe the application of metal carbonyl mediated reactions, such as the Pauson-Khand reaction (PKR) and reactions involving cationic iron carbonyl dienyl complexes, for the synthesis of potential galectin inhibitors, implicated in human inflammatory responses and various pathologies. 4. 4. Conformationally Constrained Oligonucleotides for RNA Targeting

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Qing Li; Uppsala universitet.; [2012]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; conformationally constrained nucleoside; antisense oligonucleotide; RNA affinity; nuclease stability; RNase H; RNA degradation; Chemistry with specialization in Bioorganic Chemistry; Kemi med inriktning mot bioorganisk kemi;

    Abstract : A short oligonucleotide sequence as in a single-stranded antisense oligo nucleotides (AON) or in double-stranded small interfering RNAs (siRNA) can modulate the gene expression by targeting against the cellular mRNA, which can be potentially exploited for therapeutic purposes in the treatment of different diseases. In order to improve the efficacy of oligonucleotide-based drugs, the problem of target affinity, nuclease stability and delivery needs to be addressed. READ MORE
