  1. 1. Studies of Accelerator-Driven Systems for Transmutation of Nuclear Waste

    Author : Marcus Dahlfors; Ane Håkansson; Alfred Hogenbirk; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nuclear physics; transmutation; accelerator-driven systems; Energy Amplifier; subcritical reactors; nuclear waste; Monte Carlo simulation; burnup; actinides; fission products; benchmark; nuclear data; neutron cross sections; sensitivity analysis; neutron source; spallation target; n_TOF experiment; neutron time-of-flight; cross section measurement; FLUKA; EA-MC; MCNP; MCNP-X; EADF; TRADE; Kärnfysik; Nuclear physics; Kärnfysik;

    Abstract : Accelerator-driven systems for transmutation of nuclear waste have been suggested as a means for dealing with spent fuel components that pose potential radiological hazard for long periods of time. While not entirely removing the need for underground waste repositories, this nuclear waste incineration technology provides a viable method for reducing both waste volumes and storage times. 2. 2. Merge in Transit : A non-stock distribution structure

    Author : Hans Norelius; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : Logistics; distribution channel; physical distribution; supply chain; merge in transit; cross-docking; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : The overall purpose of this study is to contribute to a better understanding of the emerging distribution structure Merge in Transit. In order to do this the purpose of this thesis is to describe and define Merge in Transit and to identify and explain differences in performance between Merge in Transit and a traditional structure with central and local warehousing. 3. 3. NMR Studies of Gel-Emulsions; Diffusometry and Applications of Novel Field Gradient Techniques

    Author : Carin Malmborg; Fysikalisk kemi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; modulated gradients; imaging; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi; NMR; emulsion; diffusion;

    Abstract : The aim of these studies has been to investigate what information that can be obtained on gel-emulsions with nuclear magnetic resonance, NMR, as the investigating tool. The gel-emulsions are important in many technical applications such as in food products, in cosmetic and pharmaceutical formulations, and in emulsion explosives, just to name a few applications. 4. 4. Snow particle size investigations using digital image analysis - implications for ground observations and remote sensing of snow

    Author : Susanne Ingvander; Peter Peter Jansson; Matti Matti Leppäranta; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; snow; remote sensing; particle size; Antarctica; in-situ sampling; seasonal snow; Physical Geography; naturgeografi;

    Abstract : During the past century climate warming has caused rapid changes in the Cryosphere. This has increased the need to accurately monitor rates of change in snow and ice in remote or sparsely populated areas where environmental observing capacity is limited. Monitoring snow cover requires understanding of the snow pack and the snow surface attributes. READ MORE

  5. 5. Developments in Distribution Channels : A Case Study of a Timber Product Distribution Channel

    Author : Wei Guan; Staffan Brege; Jakob Rehme; Dan Andersson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Industrial organisation; administration and economics; Industriell organisation; administration och ekonomi;

    Abstract : This thesis describes and analyses the trends and developments of actors along distribution channel. In particular, the study focuses on resellers and manufacturer based on the empirical material from one particular case study. READ MORE
