1. Direction-dependent processes - Theory and application
Abstract : In this thesis, direction-dependent processes are described as processes whose responses differ in shape, strength and speed, depending on whether the input signal or output signal increases or decreases. The way in which these dynamics arise is discussed for three different applications; these applications are a thermomechanical pulp refiner, in which the motor load response to the hydraulic pressure is direction dependent, a paper machine, in which the calliper control in the calender section is direction dependent, and an electronic nose, in which the response to substrate concentration is direction dependent. 2. Essays on nonlinear time series modelling och hypothesis testing
Abstract : There seems to be a common understanding nowadays that the economy is nonlinear. Economic theory suggests features that can not be incorporated into linear frameworks, and over the decades a solid body of empirical evidence of nonlinearities in economic time series has been gathered. 3. Dual mass flywheels in truck powertrains, Modelling, simulations and validation
Abstract : The heavy-duty vehicle manufacturers face large challenges when it comes to reducing CO2 emissions from vehicles. The on-going development of more efficient combustion engines leads to an increase in torsional vibrations. READ MORE

4. Material Characterization for Modelling of Sheet Metal Deformation and Failure
Abstract : Weight reduction is one possibility to reduce fuel consumption and emission of transportation vehicles. Sheet metals are often used in automotive and aerospace applications and therefore the weight reduction achieved by reducing the sheet metals thickness is an important contribution to weight reduction. 5. An Approach on Material Model Calibration for Modelling of Sheet Metal Deformation and Failure
Abstract : Sheet metals are often used in automotive and aerospace applications for safety-relevant components. Weight reduction is one possibility to reduce fuel consumption or increase the payload capacity and therewith reduce the carbondioxide emission of these trans-portation vehicles. READ MORE
