6. Slag Formation During Pilot-Scale Pressurised Entrained-Flow Gasification of Woody Biomass
Abstract : Pressurised entrained‐flow gasification (PEFG) of sustainable woody biomass offers the opportunity for envi-ronmentally benign production of syngas that is suitable for synthesis of fuels and other chemicals. During the PEFG process, ash-forming matter in the fuel undergoes transformations. READ MORE

7. Rock Mechanical Consequences of Refrigeration. A Study Based on a Pilot Scale Rock Cavern
Abstract : The deformation of a rock mass due to temperature decrease below freezing is very complex, since many factors are involved; thermal strain, strain due to stress change, stress re-distribution, ice formation and the temperature dependency of rock mechanical and thermo-physical properties. The objective of this study was to achieve a better understanding of the rock mass response to thermo-mechanical loading when storing low temperature products in rock caverns excavated in hard crystalline rock masses. 8. Biofuels from Kraft Black Liquor : Pilot-Scale Gasification Development and Techno-Economic Evaluation of Industrially Relevant Biofuel Production Pathways
Abstract : Fuel combustion for transport was responsible for 24% of EU-28 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in 2016. Member states are expected to ensure that the share of renewable energy in the transport sector is at least 14% by 2030. Some countries, such as Sweden, have more ambitious targets. READ MORE

9. Field and pilot-scale geochemical investigations into using sewage sludge for sulphidic mine waste remediation
Abstract : Successful mine waste reclamation is a fundamental aspect in mine plan development and is legislated through the European Parliament’s ‘Management of Waste from Extractive Industries Directive (2006/21/EC)’. Field and pilot-scale trials were utilised to evaluate different applications of an alternative cover material, sewage sludge, in its ability to remediate and prevent acid rock drainage formation from sulphidic mine tailings derived from the Kristineberg Zn-Cu mine, northern Sweden. 10. Chemical-Looping Combustion with Liquid Fuel
Abstract : Chemical-looping combustion (CLC) is a promising technology for future energy conversion on the basis of combustion of fossil fuels with inherent CO2 separation. In comparison to other carbon-capture technologies there is no need for energy demanding gas separation in order to obtain pure CO2. READ MORE
