  1. 21. Galling of high strength steels and stainless steels in sheet metal forming as evaluated using pin-on-disc testing

    Author : Jenny Eriksson; Mikael Olsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Galling; sheet metal forming; high strength steels; stainless steels; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot tribomaterial; Engineering Science with specialization in Tribo Materials;

    Abstract : The thesis focuses on the problem galling in sheet metal forming operations. Galling occurs when sheet metal transfers from the sheet surface onto the tool surface and causes surface damages to following sheets in the forming operation. When this happens the tool must be replaced causing production stops and additional expenses. READ MORE

  2. 22. Experimental validation of a fault-tolerant system using physical fault injection

    Author : Peter Folkesson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; coverage; real-time systems; heavy-ion radiation; EMI; fault injection; experimental evaluation; fault tolerance; pin-level fault injection; physical techniques;

  3. 23. Slotless High-Performance Electric Drives : Harmonic Loss Analysis, Sensorless Control, and Inverter Design

    Author : Jonas Millinger; Oskar Wallmark; Juliette Soulard; Zi-Qiang Zhu; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Finite-element analysis; harmonic losses; sensorless control; slotless motor drives; thermal modeling; wide-bandgap inverter; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : Electric motor drives are a cornerstone for many fundamental functions in today’s society, and their expected dominance within the transport sector is considered one of the main keys to abate global warming. Subsequently, the incentives for improved performance of electric motor drives cannot be sufficiently emphasized. READ MORE

  4. 24. The normal and ACL deficient knee : an in vivo three dimensional kinematic and electromyographic analysis

    Author : Dan K Ramsey; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : Knee; Tibia; Femur; Tibiofemoral contact points; Tibiofemoral kinematics; Anterior cruciate ligament; ACL injury; Knee brace; Knee instability; Bone pin; Magnetic resonance imaging; NM; Neuromuscular adaptation; Electromyography.;

    Abstract : The overall aim of this thesis was to describe the in-vivo 3D kinematics of the normal and ACL deficient knee. Baseline data from normal controls were compared against the pathological knee to assess whether generic functional knee braces reduced abnormal displacements. Moreover, 3D bony contact movements were derived from MRI data. READ MORE

  5. 25. Development and characterization of sensitive, energy-independent solid-state photon dosemeters with high spatial and temporal resolution. Applications in clinical radiology and radiation protection

    Author : Lars Herrnsdorf; Malmö Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Si PIN; sensor; detector; dosemeter; CT; CBCT; dose profile; CTDP; R100; SiPM; Medipix; MCNP; AM; 4π detector; ACA; flex card micro assembly;

    Abstract : AbstractModern medicine and health care rely on a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and methods that involve ionizing radiation. To guarantee quality and the safety of patients and staff, advanced radiation detectors and dosemeters are needed that have low energy and operate with directional independence for X-ray and γ-ray photons.
