  1. 1. Regulation of embryo development in Norway spruce by WOX transcription factors

    Author : Tianqing Zhu; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Keywords : LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : In seed plants, the apical-basal axis of the plant body is established during early embryogenesis. Major regulatory genes of the apical-basal axis formation belong to the WUSCHEL-RELATED HOMEOBOX (WOX) gene family of transcription factors. READ MORE

  2. 2. Molecular regulation of embryo development in Norway spruce : polar auxin transport and transcription factors

    Author : Emma Larsson; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Keywords : LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Early events in embryo development are critical for the plant body formation. During this phase the apical-basal axis, the radial symmetry, and the primary meristems are specified. The shoot apical meristem (SAM) and the root apical meristem (RAM) will subsequently give rise to all above-ground and below-ground tissues. READ MORE

  3. 3. HDZip I Transcription Factors in Arabidopsis thaliana : Expression and Function in Relation to Environmental Stress Conditions

    Author : Anna S. B. Olsson; Peter Engström; Eva Söderman; Pieter B. F. Ouwerkerk; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biology; homeodomain leucine zipper; ABA; transcription factor; water deficit; Arabidopsis thaliana; Biologi; Biology; Biologi;

    Abstract : The homeodomain leucine zipper (HDZip) proteins constitute a plant-specific family of transcription factors, that based on sequence criteria have been grouped into four classes, HDZip I-IV. This thesis describes the phylogeny, function, expression patterns and regulation of the HDZip class I genes in the model species Arabidopsis thaliana. READ MORE

  4. 4. Conservation of transcription factors in infected cells of nitrogen-fixing root nodules

    Author : Behnoosh Rashidi; Katharina Pawlowski; Karsten Niehaus; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; root nodules; actinorhiza; legumes; infection thread; Frankia; subtilase; leghemoglobin; chitinase; Plant physiology; Växtfysiologi; Plant Physiology; växtfysiologi;

    Abstract : Infected cells of nitrogen-fixing root nodules are the only plant cells that can stably internally accommodate a eubacterial symbiont. In the context of studying the differentiation of infected cells, we set about to analyse the conservation of infected cell-specific transcription factors using altogether four different promoters from genes showing infected cell-specific expression, or nodule-specific expression. 5. 5. Dissecting the gene regulatory networks behind carbon allocation in plants : ex situ studies on combinatorial and subdomains effects of seed transcription factors

    Author : Per Snell; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Plants store excess energy and metabolites derived from photosynthesis in a variety of storage compounds with starch, protein and triacyglycerol (oil, TAG) being the most common. As humans, we are completely dependent on these compounds either directly as food or indirectly, as materials for large number of goods or feed for animals. READ MORE
