21. Plasma membrane order; the role of cholesterol and links to actin filaments
Abstract : The connection between T cell activation, plasma membrane order and actin filament dynamics was the main focus of this study. Laurdan and di-4-ANEPPDHQ, membrane order sensing probes, were shown to report only on lipid packing rather than being influenced by the presence of membrane-inserted peptides justifying their use in membrane order studies. 22. The Plant Plasma Memrbane H+-ATPase: regulation by phosphorylation and 14-3-3 proteins
Abstract : The plant plasma membrane H+-ATPase is a predominant membrane enzyme that provides the energy for secondary active transport across the plasma membrane. Consequently, the H+-ATPase is thought to play a major role in many cell processes, and it is implicated to be regulated by a number of factors, including hormones, blue light, and fungal toxins The plant plasma membrane H+-ATPase is regulated via an autoinhibitory domain located within the C-terminal region of the enzyme. 23. Cubic Cell Membrane Architectures. Taking another look at membrane bound cell spaces
Abstract : A systematic study of cell membrane morphologies whose structure is governed by cubic symmetries has been performed. It is suggested that they are described by periodic cubic surfaces for which space filling surface foliations given by truncated Fourier series defined by the space groups is used as structural representations. 24. On-line Sample Pretreatment Based on Membrane Enrichment, Mainly Using Supported Liquid Membranes, for Chromatographic Analysis
Abstract : The main objective of this work was to construct practical analytical systems for the analysis of environmental and biological samples, using membrane-based techniques for sample pretreatment and chromatography for final analysis. Two types of membrane processes have been applied, with emphasis on automation. READ MORE

25. Basement membrane collagens in pancreatic cancer : novel stroma-derived tumor markers and regulators of cancer cell growth
Abstract : Background: Among the common malignancies, pancreatic cancer has the shortest long-term survival. The aggressive, rapid, and infiltrative growth pattern of pancreatic cancer, together with the lack of specific symptoms, often leads to late diagnosis. READ MORE
