1. Tissue-type plasminogen activator : molecular interactions with plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 and endothelial cell-surface proteins
Abstract : .... READ MORE

2. Structure-function studies of plasminogen activator inhibitor-1
Abstract : Plasminogen activator inhibitor-I (PAI-1) is an important physiological inhibitor of tissue-type plasminogen activator (tPA) and urine-type plasminogen activator (uPA). High plasma levels of PAI-1 correlate to thrombotic disease, and low levels can be connected to a bleeding tendency. READ MORE

3. Plasminogen Activator Inhibitor-1 and the Insulin Resistance Syndrome
Abstract : In this thesis, different aspects of the insulin resistance syndrome in relation to plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) activity are investigated in a longitudinal population-based study. Participants were men investigated at ages 50 and 70 with follow-up data on mortality. READ MORE

4. Aspects of Plasminiogen Activator Inhibitor 1 in Metabolic Syndrome
Abstract : Plasminogen activator inhibitor 1 (PAI-1) is the main inhibitor of the fibrinolytic system and binds irreversibly to tissue-type plasminogen activator (t-PA), and thereby inhibits the protective action of t-PA against thrombus formation. Elevated levels of plasma PAI-1 is observed in subjects with type 2 diabetes (T2D) and the metabolic syndrome (MetS), which is a combination of metabolic features including obesity. READ MORE

5. Plasminogen Activator Inhibitor 1 in Platelets - Studies of Synthesis, Activity, and Glycosylation Patterns
Abstract : Plasminogen activator inhibitor 1 (PAI-1) is the main physiological inhibitor of tissue-type plasminogen activator. Thus PAI-1 plays an important role in decreasing the fibrinolytic activity in human blood. PAI-1 is present in high concentrations in platelets and also in low concentrations in plasma, but the source of plasma PAI-1 is not known. READ MORE
