  1. 1. Plasminogen : a novel inflammatory regulator that promotes wound healing

    Author : Yue Shen; Tor Ny; Gunilla Høyer-Hansen; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Plasminogen; inflammation; wound healing; diabetic wounds; tympanic membrane perforations; medicinsk biokemi; Medical Biochemistry;

    Abstract : The plasminogen activator (PA) system has been shown to be intimately involved in wound healing. However, the role of this system in the initiation and resolution of inflammation during healing process remained to be determined. READ MORE

  2. 2. Plasminogen : a pleiotropic inflammatory regulator in radiation-induced wound formation and wound repair

    Author : Mahsa Fallah; Tor Ny; Malgorzata Wilczynska; Robert Medcalf; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The plasminogen activator (PA) system plays important roles in many physiological and pathological processes, including inflammation and wound healing. Plasmin, the central component of the PA system, is a broad-spectrum serine protease that is derived from its inactive precursor form, plasminogen. READ MORE

  4. 4. Plasminogen and protein PAM: Interactions between streptococcal surface proteins and the human fibrinolytic system

    Author : Annika Carlsson Wistedt; immunologi och glykobiologi - MIG Avdelningen för mikrobiologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; bacteriology; Microbiology; M protein; streptokinase; kringles; plasmin; Streptococcus pyogenes; plasminogen; virology; mycology; Mikrobiologi; bakteriologi; virologi; mykologi;

    Abstract : Pathogenic bacteria often produce potent proteases capable of destroying host tissue thereby providing the bacteria with tools for spreading and nutrient access. This thesis describes how group A, C and G streptococci can acquire surface bound protease activity through an alternative mechanism, namely by binding and activation of the human protease precursor plasminogen. 5. 5. The roles of the plasminogen activator and matrix metalloproteinase systems in ovulation and corpus luteum formation

    Author : Ida Bodén; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : ovary; ovulation; corpus luteum; plasminogen; PA; MMP; mouse;

    Abstract : Proteases of the plasminogen activator (PA) and the matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) enzyme systems are expressed in the ovulatory follicle and in the developing corpus luteum (CL). However, the functional role of these extracellular degrading protease systems in the ovulatory and CL development processes remains elusive. READ MORE
