  1. 1. Low Band-Gap Conjugated Polymers for Plastic Solar Cells

    Author : Erik Per Perzon; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; low band-gap conjugated polymers; Plastic solar cells;

    Abstract : Today, fossil fuels like coal, oil, and natural gas are used for more than 60% of the world's electricity production. These fuels have a very negative impact on the environment and many researchers agree that the earth's climate is changing as a consequence of fossil fuel emissions. READ MORE

  2. 2. Surface Energy Patterning and Optoelectronic Devices Based on Conjugated Polymers

    Author : Xiangjun Wang; Olle Inganäs; Henning Sirringhaus; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Surface energy modification; Patterning; Dewetting; Conjugated polymer; plastic solar cell; Low bandgap; Electron acceptors and donors; Physics; Fysik;

    Abstract : The work presented in this thesis concerns surface energy modification and patterning of the surfaces of conjugated polymers. Goniometry and Wilhelmy Balance techniques were used to evaluate the surface energy or wettability of a polymer’s surface; infrared reflectionabsorption spectroscopy (IRAS) was used to analyse the residuals on the surface as modified by a bare elastomeric stamp poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS). 3. 3. Conjugated polymer surface switches for active cell control

    Author : Maria Bolin; Magnus Berggren; Edwin Jager; Danilo De Rossi; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : Elektronik; Polymerer; Organisk elektronik; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : Conjugated polymers have been found useful in a wide range of applications such as sensors, electrochemical transistors, solar cells, and printed electronics due to their mechanical, optical and electronic properties. An amazing research field has grown during the last three decades since the discovery of conducting polymers in 1976. READ MORE

  4. 4. Molecular responses of plants to solar UV-B and UV-A radiation

    Author : Luis Orlando Morales; Pedro José Aphalo; Mikael Brosché; Riitta Tegelberg; Nigel Paul; Örebro universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biology; Biologi;

    Abstract : Plant responses to solar ultraviolet radiation (UV, 280-400 nm) were assessed at different molecular levels using Betula pendula Roth (silver birch) and Arabidopsis thaliana (Arabidopsis) as model species in outdoor experiments to assess the possibly interacting roles of the UV-B and UV-A wavebands in acclimation to sunlight. Solar UV-B (280-315 nm) and UV-A (315-400 nm) irradiance was attenuated with plastic films. READ MORE

  5. 5. Studies of Charge Transport and Energy Level in Solar Cells Based on Polymer/Fullerene Bulk Heterojunction

    Author : Abay Gadisa; Olle Inganäs; Vladimir Dyakonov; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Bulk heterojunction; Charge transport; Space charge limited; Bipolar transport; Origin of open circuit voltage; Polymer-fullerene blend; Soft contact lamination; Polarized infrared emission; Physics; Fysik;

    Abstract : π-Conjugated polymers have attracted considerable attention since they are potential candidates for various opto-electronic devices such as solar cells, light emitting iodes, photodiodes, and transistors. Electronic de vices based on conjugated polymers can be easily processed at low temperature using inexpensive technologies. READ MORE
