  1. 1. Satellite observations of auroral acceleration processes

    Author : Lars Eliasson; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Aurora; particle acceleration; space plasma; magnetosphere; ionosphere; polar cap; satellite observations;

    Abstract : Measurements with satellite and sounding rocket borne instruments contain important information on remote and local processes in regions containing matter in the plasma state. The characteristic features of the particle distributions can be used to explain the morphology and dynamics of the different plasma populations. READ MORE

  2. 2. Climate and energy exchange on a sub-polar ice cap in summar : Arctic institute of North America Devon Island expedition 1961-1963

    Author : Björn Holmgren; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : .... READ MORE

  3. 3. Energization and Acceleration of Dayside Polar Outflowing Oxygen

    Author : Sachiko Arvelius; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Solar wind-magnetosphere interactions; Magnetosphere-ionosphere coupling; O energization acceleration; O outflow; Space physics; Rymdfysik;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with energetic oxygen ions (i.e. single-charged atomic oxygen ions, O+) at altitudes higher than 5 Earth radii (RE) and at latitudes above 75 (toward 90) degrees invariant latitude (deg ILAT) in the dayside polar magnetosphere observed by Cluster. READ MORE

  4. 4. High altitude ion heating observed by the Cluster spacecraft

    Author : Martin Waara; Hans Nilsson; Kristina Lynch; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Space physics; Rymdfysik; rymd- och plasmafysik; Space and Plasma Physics;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with heating of outowing oxygen ions at high altitude above the polar cap using data from the Cluster spacecraft. oInospheric plasma may flow up from the ionosphere but at velocities which are low enough that the ions are still gravitationally bound. For the ions to overcome gravity, further acceleration is needed. READ MORE

  5. 5. The role of auxin in abscission of organs and tissues

    Author : Xu Jin; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Most deciduous trees drop their leaves before winter, a process which is referred to as leaf abscission. Leaf abscission is thought to be regulated by the action of auxin and ethylene. READ MORE
