1. Development of Polyamide Solvent Extraction Reagents for Trivalent Lanthanides
Abstract : Rare earth elements (REEs), including lanthanides, are critical materials for many industrial technologies. As a result recycling of end-of-life products containing REEs might be beneficial, as this could partially satisfy the growing demands of industry for these elements. READ MORE

2. The influence of solvent composition on crystal agglomeration of paracetamol
Abstract : This thesis deals with the influence of solvent compositionon crystal agglomeration of paracetamol. Much work has beendone on characterisation of the crystalline product.Interfacial energies have also been determined for large singlegrown crystals. READ MORE

3. Molecular Recognition Studies Based on Imprinting Technology
Abstract : In this thesis, I have focused on five main research areas: 1). A new type of imprinted polymer has been developed, namely the amide MIP. The amide functional monomers showed better hydrogen bonding capabilities in polar organic solvents and the resulting polymers exhibited good enantiomeric recognition properties in organic media. 4. Foreign molecules in biomembranes : Molecular effects on intact stratum corneum and model lipid systems
Abstract : This thesis mainly explores how the molecular mobility of lipid and protein components in the outermost layer of the skin, the stratum corneum (SC), varies with different conditions and upon adding foreign compounds. These studies require methods that makes it possible to detect and characterize the minor amount of fluid components in the highly ordered solid SC sample with resolved molecular information. 5. Theoretical Reflections of Solvation in Polar Media
Abstract : Using experiments it is rather easy to measure things on the macroscopic length scale, while it is much harder to measure something in the microscopic world like molecular structure. The opposite is true in theoretical chemistry. READ MORE
