  1. 1. Digital Baseband Modeling and Correction of Radio Frequency Power Amplifiers

    Author : Per Landin; Peter Händel; Magnus Isaksson; Wendy Van Moer; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : Aspects related to behavioral modeling and correction of distortions for radio frequency (RF) power amplifiers (PAs) are treated in the thesis.    When evaluating the performance of a behavioral model it is important to, first of all, use an evaluation criterion, and second, make sure that the criterion actually tells something about the behavior one wishes to describe. 2. 2. Design of VCO-based ADCs

    Author : Vishnu Unnikrishnan; Mark Vesterbacka; Trond Ytterdal; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : Today's complex electronic systems with billions of transistors on a single die are enabled by the aggressive scaling down of the device feature size at an exponential rate as predicted by the Moore's law. Digital circuits benefit from technology scaling to become faster, more energy efficient as well as more area efficient as the feature size is scaled down. READ MORE

  3. 3. The Non-Linear Instantaneous Least Squares Approach to Signal Parameter Estimation

    Author : Jakob Ängeby; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; aliasing; polynomial-phase signals; synthetic aperture radar auto-focusing; non-linear least squares; time-frequency estimation; estimation theory; non-stationary processes; non-uniform sampling;

    Abstract : Estimation of parameters of non-stationary signals observed in noise is a challenging and difficult task, motivated by applications such as radar and mobile tele-communication. Here, a novel method for signal parameter estimation named the Non-linear Instantaneous Least Squares (NILS) approach is presented, which can be applied to linear and non-linear signals, and to both uniformly and non-uniformly sampled data. 4. 4. Radio Channel Prediction Based on Parametric Modeling

    Author : Ming Chen; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Wireless communications; channel prediction; GLRT; CRLB; NLLS; polynomial phase signal; Kalman filter; NILS.; sinusoidal modeling; channel modeling; MIMO;

    Abstract : Long range channel prediction is a crucial technology for future wireless communications. The prediction of Rayleigh fading channels is studied in the frame of parametric modeling in this thesis.Suggested by the Jakes model for Rayleigh fading channels,deterministic sinusoidal models were adopted for long rangechannel prediction in early works. 5. 5. Robust Sound Field Control for Audio Reproduction : A Polynomial Approach to Discrete-Time Acoustic Modeling and Filter Design

    Author : Lars-Johan Brännmark; Anders Ahlén; Mikael Sternad; Mathias Johansson; Rodney Kennedy; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Acoustic signal processing; equalizers; error modeling; feedforward control; interpolation; loudspeakers; multivariable filters; polynomials; robustness; sound fields;

    Abstract : This thesis is concerned with the design and analysis of robust discrete-time filters for audio equalization and sound field control in real reverberant environments. Inspired by methods in polynomial control theory, a unified framework for acoustic modeling and filter design is developed. READ MORE
