1. Some Contributions to Statistical Disclosure Control
Abstract : An important issue associated with the release of statistical data, is the possibility of disclosing individual information about respondents. Statistical disclosure control (SDC), is the discipline that deals with methods of producing statistical data that are safe enough to be released while retaining its analytical value and also methods of assessing the disclosures risks. 2. Spatial Statistics and Ancestral Recombination Graphs with Applications in Gene Mapping and Geostatistics
Abstract : This thesis explores models and algorithms in geostatistics and gene mapping. The first part deals with the use of computationally effective lattice models for inference of data with a continuous spatial index. READ MORE

3. On Methods for Real Time Sampling and Distributions in Sampling
Abstract : This thesis is composed of six papers, all dealing with the issue of sampling from a finite population. We consider two different topics: real time sampling and distributions in sampling. The main focus is on Papers A–C, where a somewhat special sampling situation referred to as real time sampling is studied. READ MORE

4. Calibration Adjustment for Nonresponse in Sample Surveys
Abstract : In this thesis, we discuss calibration estimation in the presence of nonresponse with a focus on the linear calibration estimator and the propensity calibration estimator, along with the use of different levels of auxiliary information, that is, sample and population levels. This is a fourpapers- based thesis, two of which discuss estimation in two steps. READ MORE

5. Inbreeding, Effective Population Sizes and Genetic Differentiation : A Mathematical Analysis of Structured Populations
Abstract : This thesis consists of four papers on various aspects of inbreeding, effective population sizes and genetic differentiation in structured populations, that is, populations that consist of a number of subpopulations. Three of the papers concern age structured populations, where in the first paper we concentrate on calculating the variance effective population size (NeV) and how NeV depends on the time between measurements and the weighting scheme of age classes.
