16. Development of a polymer based neural probe - How to record intracortical neural activity while minimizing the tissue response
Abstract : Intracortical neural probes have in the last couple of years been developed from stiff single probes to stiff multi-electrode neural probes to flexible multi-electrode neural probes. One reason for the change in design is that more than one recording/stimulation electrode, as in the case with a single wire, is needed for more advanced studies. READ MORE

17. Molten carbonate fuel cells for electrolysis
Abstract : The molten carbonate fuel cell has evolved to current megawatt-scale commercial power plants. When using the fuel cell for electrolysis, it provides a promising option for producing fuel gases such as hydrogen and syngas. The cell can thereby operate reversibly as a dual energy converter for electricity generation and fuel gas production. READ MORE

18. Kinetic investigation of LiMn2O4 for rechargeable lithium batteries
Abstract : This thesis is concerned with kinetic characterisation of theinsertion compound LiMn2O4, which is used as positive electrodematerial in rechargeable lithium batteries. Three different typesof electrode configurations have been investigated, namely singleparticles, thin films and composite electrodes. Differentelectrochemical techniques, i.e. READ MORE

19. Functionalized Porous Carbon Fiber Electrodes for Applications in Electrochemical Flow Cells
Abstract : Corrosion of metals in close-loop cooling or heating systems originates from tiny leakages at joints releasing oxygen into the thermal fluids. The presence of dissolved oxygen (DO) in thermal fluids, such as water with various additives forms a rust coating and some rust particles are released in the fluids and accumulate in an undesired place. 20. Enhanced boiling heat transfer from a novel nanodendritic micro-porous copper structure
Abstract : Following licentiate thesis is a summary of the advances made within the research project - Micro- and nano structured surfaces for enhanced boiling heat transfer – which is a collaboration effort between the Divi-sion of Applied Thermodynamics and Refrigeration and the Division of Materials Chemistry at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). The main objectives with this research project has been to: develop methods for producing highly efficient boiling surfaces with well defined micro- and nano-structured porous surfaces by the use of micro- and nano-manufacturing techniques.
