  1. 6. Imine/azo-linked microporous organic polymers : Design, synthesis and applications

    Author : Chao Xu; Niklas Hedin; Dave Adams; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Microporous organic polymers; CO2 capture and separation; post-modification; chemisorption; heterogeneous catalysis; Materials Chemistry; materialkemi;

    Abstract : Microporous organic polymers (MOPs) are porous materials. Owing to their high surface area, tunable pore sizes and high physicochemical stability, they are studied for applications including gas capture and separation and heterogeneous catalysis. In this thesis, a series of imine/azo-linked MOPs were synthesized. READ MORE

  2. 7. Identification and Characterization of Peptides and Proteins using Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance Mass Spectrometry

    Author : Magnus Palmblad; Ole Nørregaard Jensen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; Peptide; protein; peptide mass fingerprinting; identification; sequencing; protein structure; non-covalent interaction; modification; electrospray ionization; liquid chromatography; capillary electrophoresis; electron capture dissociation; Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry; cerebrospinal fluid; amyloid β-peptide; Alzheimer’s disease.; Materialvetenskap; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Molecular Biotechnology; Molekylär bioteknik;

    Abstract : Mass spectrometry has in recent years been established as the standard method for protein identification and characterization in proteomics with excellent intrinsic sensitivity and specificity. Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance is the mass spectrometric technique that provides the highest resolving power and mass accuracy, increasing the amount of information that can be obtained from complex samples. 3. 8. Cyanobacteria in symbiosis with plants : Protein patterns and regulatory mechanisms

    Author : Martin Ekman; Birgitta Bergman; Dave G. Adams; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cyanobacteria; symbiosis; Nostoc; Gunnera; Azolla; nitrogenase; modification; heterotrophic; proteomics; unsequenced; Plant physiology; Växtfysiologi;

    Abstract : Cyanobacteria belonging to the heterocystous genus Nostoc, capable of oxygenic photosynthesis and nitrogen fixation via the enzyme nitrogenase, may form symbiotic associations with plants. In these associations most of the N2 fixed by the symbiotic cyanobacteria (cyanobiont) is transferred to the host, which in turn supplies the cyanobiont with fixed carbon. READ MORE

  4. 9. SUMOylation is a post-translational modification regulating skeletal muscle pathophysiology

    Author : Gabriel Antonio Heras Arribas; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The research of this thesis is focused to investigate the role of SUMOylation, a protein post-translational modification reaction, implemented to the skeletal muscle pathophysiology area. SUMOylation is regulated by an enzymatic cascade of coordinated events capable of the reversible attachment of the Small Ubiquitin-like Modifier (SUMO) on to the targeted proteins. READ MORE

  5. 10. In search of the missing bias : Virtual reality based attentional bias modification for social anxiety

    Author : Lichen Ma; Per Carlbring; Martien Schrooten; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; attentional bias; attentional bias modification; social anxiety; virtual reality; dot-probe; attentional training; mixed reality; Psychology; psykologi;

    Abstract : Attentional bias modification (ABM) aims to attenuate social anxiety by directly modifying the underlying bias that generates and maintains problematic anxiety. Mixed results from previous ABM studies have spurred efforts to boost its effectiveness by introducing more robust bias modification protocols and new technologies. READ MORE
