  1. 6. Post-translational and therapy-induced modifications in rheumatoid arthritis

    Author : Dimitrios Makrygiannakis; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by synovial proliferation and excessive mononuclear infiltration leading to destruction of bone and cartilage, with subsequent joint deformities and physical disability. Even though RA etiology is still unknown, autoantibody driven pathogenic mechanisms are considered to be important, with strong evidence for the pathogenic potentials of antibodies directed against citrullinated antigens. 2. 7. Post-translational modifications of myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein in CNS autoimmunity

    Author : Andreas Warnecke; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Autoimmunity towards components of the central nervous system (CNS) is a driving factor of nerve demyelination in Multiple Sclerosis (MS). The etiology of autoimmunity in MS pathogenesis remains elusive, but a combination of genetic predisposition and environmental triggers is theorized to initiate this complex disease. READ MORE

  3. 8. Post-translational modifications of XRCC1 by the protein kinase CK2

  4. 9. Post-translational modifications in mammary gland development and mammary tumor progression

    Author : Ting Zhuang; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers in women. Estrogen receptor α (ERα) signaling and p53 signaling have important roles in breast cancer progression. Therefore, post-translational modifications of ERα and p53 play critical roles in breast cancer. READ MORE

    Abstract : Post-translational modifications of histones enable differential transcriptional control of the genome between cell types and developmental stages, and in response to environmental factors. The methylation of Histone 3 Lysine 36 (H3K36) is one the most complex and well-studied histone modifications and is known to be involved in a wide range of molecular processes. READ MORE
