  1. 1. Hydropower generator and power system interaction

    Author : Johan Bladh; Urban Lundin; Rafael Escarela-Perez; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Amortisseur windings; applied voltage test; automatic voltage regulators; damper windings; damping torque; empirical modelling; equivalent circuits; excitation control; finite element method; hydropower generators; power system restoration; power system stability; synchronous machines; self excitation; shaft torque amplification; short circuit test; single machine infinite bus; slip test; standstill frequency response test; subsynchronous oscillations; synchronising torque; synchronous generators; torsional interaction.; Engineering Science with specialization in Science of Electricity; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot elektricitetslära;

    Abstract : After decades of routine operation, the hydropower industry faces new challenges. Large-scale integration of other renewable sources of generation in the power system accentuates the role of hydropower as a regulating resource. READ MORE

  2. 2. Disruptive power : How distributed energy resources shape organizations and value logics in the future of electricity systems

    Author : Martin Warneryd; Eva Thorin; Ewa Wäckelgård; Dick Magnusson; Mälardalens universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik;

    Abstract : The electricity sector faces its largest transformation since its beginning about a century ago. Combinations of ageing electricity networks, removal of fossil supply sources and electrification of industry and transport sectors require vast efforts at all levels of society. READ MORE

  3. 3. Sea Level Compensation System for Wave Energy Converters

    Author : Valeria Castellucci; Rafael Waters; Ronan Costello; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Ocean energy; Tides; Linear generator; Point absorber; Offshore experiment; Hydro-mechanic modeling; Power absorption; Control system; Communication system; Measurement system; Lysekil research site; Wave Hub.;

    Abstract : The wave energy converter developed at Uppsala University consists of a linear generator at the seabed driven by the motion of a buoy on the water surface. The energy absorbed by the generator is negatively affected by variations of the mean sea level caused by tides, changes in barometric pressure, strong winds, and storm surges. READ MORE
