  1. 11. Dopamine D2 and D3 receptors. Studies on transduction mechanisms and on the role of a D3 gene polymorphism

    Author : Monika Hellstrand; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : dopamine; dopamine D2 receptor; dopamine D3 receptor; transduction; CHO cells; partial agonism; inverse agonism; arachidonic acid; prostaglandin E2; cAMP; haloperidol; -3-PPP; PNU-99194A; polymorphism; personality;

    Abstract : The neurotransmitter dopamine has been implicated in the pathophysiology of, e.g., Parkinson s disease and schizophrenia, and dopamine receptor-active compounds are commonly employed therapeutically in these and other disorders. READ MORE

  2. 12. Integrated Access and Backhaul for 5G and Beyond (6G)

    Author : Charitha Madapatha Madapathage Don; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Stochastic geometry; Node selection; Beyond 5G; Backhaul; 6G; Blockage; Coverage probability; Poisson point process PPP ; Integrated access and backhaul IAB ; Relay; Constrained deployment; 5G new radio NR ; Tree foliage; Millimeter wave mmWave communications; Densification; 3GPP; Wireless backhaul; Routing; Genetic algorithm GA ; Topology optimization;

    Abstract : Enabling network densification to support coverage-limited millimeter wave (mmWave) frequencies is one of the main requirements for 5G and beyond. It is challenging to connect a high number of base stations (BSs) to the core network via a transport network. READ MORE

  3. 13. Targeting insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor in cancer

    Author : Ada Girnita; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : IGF1; IGF-1R; MDM2; p53; PPP; Tamoxifen; tyrosine kinase inhibitors; ubiquitin;

    Abstract : Cancer is a multi-step process where the accumulation of several genetic and epigenetic alterations drives the transformation of a normal cell to a malignant cell, skipping the normal control of defense, repair and apoptosis. During the selection process towards a malignant phenotype, the transforming cells make use of normal (physiological) extracellular signaling pathways to create growth advantage over normal cells. 4. 14. IGF-1R inhibition : a tool for functional studies of insulin-like growth factor family in malignant cells

    Author : Daiana Vasilcanu; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : IGF-1R; chemoresistance; IR; glucose uptake; tyrosine kinase inhibitors;

    Abstract : Cancer cells generally posses the capability of overusing normal extracellular signaling for proliferation and/or anti-apoptosis to create growth advantage over the normal cells. Major players in extracellular signaling are the growth factor receptors. Among them, an activated IGF-1R is important for the establishment of a malignant cell phenotype. READ MORE

  5. 15. Metabolic Engineering of the Pentose Phosphate Pathway of Xylose Fermenting Saccharomyces cerevisiae

    Author : Björn Johansson; Teknisk mikrobiologi; []

    Abstract : The aim of the work presented in this thesis is the improvement of xylose fermentation performance of recombinant Saccharomyces cerevisiae strains expressing XYL1 and XYL2 from Pichia stipitis, encoding xylose reductase (XR) and xylitol dehydrogenase (XDH). A recombinant strain of S. READ MORE
