  1. 16. Gas-filled, flat plate solar collectors

    Author : Johan Vestlund; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mechanical stresses; collector material; heated cavity; Modelling; Solar collectors;

    Abstract : This work treats the thermal and mechanical performances of gas-filled, flat plate solar collectors in order to achieve a better performance than that of air filled collectors. The gases examined are argon, krypton and xenon which all have lower thermal conductivity than air. The absorber is formed as a tray connected to the glass. READ MORE

  2. 17. Gas-filled, flat plate solar collectors

  3. 18. Multipactor in low pressure gas and in nonuniform rf field structures

    Author : Richard Udiljak; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; detection methods; iris; low pressure gas; coax; nonuniform fields; Multipactor; microwave discharge; breakdown; discharge;

    Abstract : Resonant electron multiplication in vacuum, multipactor, is analysed for several geometries where the RF electric field is nonuniform. In particular, it is shown that the multipactor behaviour in a coaxial line is both qualitatively and quantitatively different from that observed with the conventionally used simple parallel-plate model. 4. 19. Receptivity of Boundary Layers under Pressure Gradient

    Author : Lars-Uve Schrader; Luca Brandt; Dan Henningson; Tamer Zaki; KTH; []
    Keywords : Leading-edge effects;

    Abstract : Boundary-layer flow over bodies such as aircraft wings or turbine blades is characterized by a pressure gradient due to the curved surface of the body. The boundary layer may experience modal and non-modal instability, and the type of dominant instability depends on whether the body is swept with respect to the oncoming flow or not. READ MORE

  5. 20. Hygro-Elastic Deformation of High Pressure Laminates. A Macroscopic Analysis. Theoretical Modelling and Measurements

    Author : Bijan Adl-Zarrabi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; numerical simulation; expansion; elastic deformation; moisture transport; orthotropic; high pressure laminate;

    Abstract : Deformation due to environmental changes in moisture arises in many engineering problems of practical interest. The purpose of this work is to develop a theoretical model for the determination of moisture induced deformations in thin plates made of High Pressure Laminates. READ MORE
