6. Sensor Fusion for Automotive Applications
Abstract : Mapping stationary objects and tracking moving targets are essential for many autonomous functions in vehicles. In order to compute the map and track estimates, sensor measurements from radar, laser and camera are used together with the standard proprioceptive sensors present in a car. READ MORE

7. Development and use of an optical pCO2 sensor in marine studies
Abstract : Partial pressure of CO2 (pCO2) is one of the most important parameters, which are measured in the global ocean in conjunction with ocean acidification studies. It is also a parameter of great interest to aquaculture and fish industries since CO2 in large amounts is highly toxic for animals. The requirements for pCO2 measuring systems, e.g. READ MORE

8. Intra-Aneurysm Sac Pressure and Clinical Results after Endovascular Repair of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms
Abstract : AIM: The aim was to evaluate the results of endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) in terms of intra-AAA pressure and clinical outcomes. METHODS AND RESULTS: 0.014-inch guide-wire-mounted tip-pressure sensors were used for direct intra-aneurysm sac pressure measurement (DISP) through translumbar puncture of the AAA. READ MORE

9. Extending Microsystems to Very High Temperatures and Chemically Harsh Environments
Abstract : Aiming at applications in space exploration as well as for monitoring natural hazards, this thesis focuses on understanding and overcoming the challenges of extending the applicability of microsystems to temperatures above 600°C as well as chemically harsh environments. Alumina and zirconia high-temperature co-fired ceramics (HTCC) with platinum as the conductor material, have in this thesis, been used to manufacture a wide range of high-temperature tolerant miniaturized sensors and actuators, including pressure and flow sensors, valves, a combustor, and liquid monopropellant microthrusters. 10. Extracting Cardiac Information From the Pressure Sensors of a Dialysis Machine
Abstract : This doctoral thesis in biomedical engineering deals with cardiac monitoring using the built-in extracorporeal blood pressure sensors of a hemodialysis machine. Patients treated with hemodialysis often suffer from cardiovascular disease. READ MORE
