  1. 1. Partial CO2 capture to facilitate cost-efficient deployment of carbon capture and storage in process industries - Deliberations on process design, heat integration, and carbon allocation

    Author : Max Biermann; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; carbon allocation; Partial CO2 capture; process industry; techno-economic assessment; CCS; heat recovery; amine absorption;

    Abstract : Climate change requires that all energy-related sectors reduce drastically their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, at a global rate of 1–2 GtCO2 per year, starting now. Process industries, such as the iron and steel, cement, petrochemical, and oil-refining industries, are inherently carbon-intensive, and carbon capture and storage (CCS) is one of the few options available to achieve the required deep reductions in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. 2. 2. The process atmosphere as a parameter in the Laser-Powder Bed Fusion process

    Author : Camille Nicole Géraldine Pauzon; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; process stability; 316L stainless steel; Ti-6Al-4V; Laser-Powder Bed Fusion; processing atmosphere; process control; powder degradation; Additive Manufacturing;

    Abstract : Laser-Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF) is an Additive Manufacturing (AM) technique that allows to produce near-net shape components of complex design. Applied to metallic materials, L-PBF allows to consolidate subsequent layers of powder using the heat from laser radiation. READ MORE

  3. 3. Recovery of kraft black liquor using the titanate process : kinetics of the direct causticization reaction between sodium tri-titanate and sodium carbonate

    Author : Ingrid Nohlgren; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Chemical Technology; Kemisk teknologi;

    Abstract : The solid state reaction between sodium tri-titanate and sodium carbonate, forming mainly sodium penta-titanate, was investigated. Experiments were carried out in a micro-differential reactor made of quartz glass at various temperatures between 800°C and 880°C and in a pilot fluidized bed reactor operated in a semi-batch mode. 4. 4. Stochastic systems with locally defined dynamics

    Author : Anton Muratov; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; point process; sequential adsorption; stopping set; random measure; Polya urn; convergence of empirical measures; bit flipping; recurrence; renewal process; Poisson process; Dirichlet distribution; random matrices; random matrices;

    Abstract : We study three different classes of models of stochastic systems with locally defined dynamics. Our main points of interest are the limiting properties and convergence in these models. The first class is the locally interactive sequential adsorption, or LISA, models. READ MORE

  5. 5. The Final Size of Multitype Chain-Binomial Epidemic Processes

    Author : Mikael Andersson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; multitype epidemic process; counting process; Markov process; weak convergence; counting process;

    Abstract : A multitype chain-binomial epidemic process is defined for a closed finite population by sampling a simple multidimensional counting process at certain points. The final size of the epidemic is then characterised, given the counting process, as the smallest root of a non-linear system of equations. READ MORE
