  1. 1. Supporting long-term production development : Towards production platforms

    Author : Simon Boldt; Carin Rösiö; Gary Linnéusson; Lennart Malmsköld; Jönköping University; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; production development; production platforms; long-term; perspective; changeability; integrated product and production development; manufacturing; produktionsutveckling; produktionsplattformar; långsiktigt perspektiv; förändringsbarhet; integrerad produkt och produktionsutveckling; tillverkning;

    Abstract : With shrinking product life cycles and increasing competitive pressure, the traditional way of developing production systems is becoming obsolete. A longer-term perspective that considers the stream of product realisation projects to be implemented in the production system over its lifetime is required. READ MORE

  2. 2. Data-driven Production Logistics : A value-oriented transition approach

    Author : Masoud Zafarzadeh; Magnus Wiktorsson; Jannicke Baalsrud Hauge; Martin Rudberg; KTH; []
    Keywords : Internal logistics; Smart; Value; Manufacturing; Technology; Production Engineering; Industriell produktion;

    Abstract : In the current manufacturing environment, the constant evolution ofproducts and services creates complexities in managing the flow ofinformation. Production logistics (PL), as a vital element of manufacturingsystems, are highly influenced by these dynamics. READ MORE

  3. 3. Experimental and theoretical investigation of the laser cutting process

    Author : Jetro Pocorni; Ali Khan; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Manufacturing Systems Engineering; Produktionsutveckling; Maskinteknik;

    Abstract : This thesis concerns experimental investigations of laser cutting with theoretical and practical discussions of the results. The thesis is made up of three papers which are linked in such a way that each of them studies a different aspect of laser cutting: In paper I the two major laser types in cutting, namely CO2 and fiber lasers, are compared to each other by a self-defined cut efficiency. 4. 4. A study of the fatigue behaviour of laser and hybrid laser welds

    Author : Md. Minhaj Alam; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Manufacturing Systems Engineering; Produktionsutveckling;

    Abstract : This licentiate thesis focuses on the fatigue cracking behaviour of laser and hybrid laser-MAG welded structures. Beside the welding process and the resulting weld, several topics related to fatigue of welded structures are treated such as; macro and micro surface geometry, weld defects and their influence on fatigue performance of welded structures, fatigue analysis by the nominal and effective notch stress method, fatigue life prediction using LEFM (Linear Elastic Fracture Mechanics), fatigue testing, metallurgical analysis, elastic and elastic-plastic finite element analysis. 5. 5. Laser welding and cladding : the effects of defects on fatigue behaviour

    Author : Md. Minhaj Alam; Stewart Williams; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Manufacturing Systems Engineering; Produktionsutveckling;

    Abstract : The thesis focuses on weld defects in laser processed materials (for laser welding, laser hybrid arc welding and laser cladding) and their effect on the fatigue life of components. Component properties were studied with particular emphasis on the macro and micro surface geometry, weld defects and clad defects. READ MORE
