  1. 1. Glaucoma Diagnostics

    Author : Sabina Andersson; Oftalmologi (Malmö); []
    Keywords : POAG – glaucoma – diagnostic accuracy – screening – subjective assessment – population-based – GDx VCC – OCT – HRT – FDT – ONH assessment – CME – ANN – artificial neural network – visual field assessment;

    Abstract : This thesis addresses several aspects of glaucoma diagnostics from both a clinical and a screening perspective. New instruments for diagnosing glaucoma have been developed over the past years, but little information is available regarding their performance as screening methods and their usefulness in ordinary clinical practice. 2. 2. Digester modelling for diagnostics and control

    Author : Johan Jansson; Erik Dahlquist; Thore Berntsson; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; pulp production; diagnostics; simulation; control; Cellulose and paper engineering; Cellulosa- och pappersteknik; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik;

    Abstract : This thesis will show the possibility for the development and use of an on-line model for application to continuous digesters for pulp production. The model is developed by using a program called Dymola (Dynamic Modeling Laboratory). What makes the Dymola software so well suited is that the program solves equations simultaneously. READ MORE

  3. 3. Efficient Memory Modeling During Simulation and Native Execution

    Author : Nikos Nikoleris; Erik Hagersten; Lieven Eeckhout; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; performance analysis; cache performance; multicore performance; memory system; memory bandwidth; memory contention; performance prediction; multi-threading; multiprocessing systems; program diagnostics; commodity multicores; multithreaded program resource requirements; performance counters; scalability bottleneck; scalability improvement; Computer Science; Datavetenskap;

    Abstract : Application performance on computer processors depends on a number of complex architectural and microarchitectural design decisions. Consequently, computer architects rely on performance modeling to improve future processors without building prototypes. READ MORE

  4. 4. Method for inductive case-based decision support system over the Internet : exemplified by ear, nose and throat diagnostics in primary care

    Author : Tom af Klercker; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : This thesis is an example of an ear to loaf process:A Preliminary Essential Data Set (PEDS) for Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) diagnostics in Primary Health Care (PHC) was established by infologic modelling of existing tractates, between the specialist organisations of ENT and PHC, and four contemporary text-books on the subject (I). The PEDS was then compared to the aggregated data from a sample of case-files from a Swedish PHC centre. READ MORE

  5. 5. Online power transformer diagnostics using multiple modes of microwave radiation

    Author : Mariana Dalarsson; Martin Norgren; Sven Nordebo; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; inverse problem; multiple modes; power transformers;

    Abstract : In the present thesis, we propose and investigate a new approach to diagnose the effects of the various degradation mechanisms, including thermal degradation at hot spots, winding deformations due to the mechanical forces from short circuit currents, partial discharges due to local electric field surges, and increased moisture levels in the cellulose insulation due to decomposition, that affect electric power transformers during their normal operation in an electric power grid.Although the proposed diagnostics method can in principle be used to detect various degradation mechanisms mentioned above, we focus in the present thesis on mechanical deformations of transformer winding structures.
