  1. 16. Numerical prediction of propeller induced hull pressure pulses and noise

    Author : Muye Ge; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; RANS; Transition; IDDES; Cavitation; Pressure pulses; Sheet cavitation inception; Ship noise; k − ω SST; FWH acoustic analogy; Hydroacoustics;

    Abstract : An operating marine propeller is one of the major sources inducing hull pressure pulses, onboard noise and vibration as well as underwater radiated noise. There are rising concerns of environmental impacts and comfort and welfare of passengers and crews due to these negative effects. READ MORE

  2. 17. On the Aerodynamic Design of the Boxprop

    Author : Alexandre Capitao Patrao; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; CFD; Open Rotors; Wake Analysis Method; Propeller Design; Propellers; CROR; Optimization; Tip vortex; Propfans;

    Abstract : Economic factors and environmental awareness are driving the evolution of aircraft engines towards increasingly lower fuel consumption and emissions. The Counter-Rotating Open Rotor (CROR) is actively being researched around the world, promising a significantly increased propulsion efficiency relative to existing turbofans by employing two, unducted, counter-rotating propeller blade rows, thereby increasing the bypass ratio of the engine and decreasing nacelle drag. 3. 18. Hydrolases as Catalysts for Green Chemistry and Industrial Applications - Esterase, Lipase and Phytase

    Author : Yasser Gaber; Bioteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; HPLC-EAT; sustainable environment; mutation; metallo-enzyme; phytate; b-propeller; biodegraqdable; metrics; green chemistry; Novozym 435; CalB; solvent-free; kinetic resolution; Biocatalysis; rational design; PLE; esterase; clopidogrel; enantioselectivity;

    Abstract : The use of enzymes in industrial applications has been recognised for providing clean processes with minimal impact on the environment. This thesis presents studies on engineering of enzymes and enzyme-based processes in the light of green chemistry and environmental sustainability, and focuses on three hydrolases: esterase, lipase and phytase. 4. 19. Affect as a Component of Perceived Sound and Vibration Quality in Aircraft

    Author : Daniel Västfjäll; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; comfort; sound quality; evaluations; affective reactions; preference; interior aircraft sounds; propeller aircraft;

    Abstract : The concept of product sound quality is becoming an integral component of product development and design. The research presented in this thesis test the notion that affective reactions (i.e. positive-negative feelings) are a major determinant of perceived sound quality. READ MORE

  5. 20. Simulation and Analysis of a Novel Open Rotor Propeller - the Boxprop

    Author : Alexandre Capitao Patrao; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Wake Analysis Method; CFD; Open Rotors; Propfans; Tip vortex; CROR; Propellers;

    Abstract : Economic factors and environmental awareness is driving the evolution of aircraft engines towards increasingly higher efficiencies, reaching for lower fuel consumption and lower emissions. The Counter-Rotating Open Rotor (CROR) is actively being researched around the world, promising a significantly increased propulsion efficiency relative to existing turbofans by employing two, counter-rotating propeller blade rows, thereby increasing the bypass ratio of the engine.
