  1. 16. Development and characterization of SiC based field effect gas sensors and sensor systems for emissions monitoring and control of biomass combustion

    University dissertation from Linköping : Linköpings universitet

    Author : Mike Andersson; Linköpings universitet.; Linköpings universitet.; [2005]

    Abstract : Increasing oil prices and environmental levies have reinforced the interest in biofuels for domestic and district heating, most commonly through combustion of solid biomass like wood logs, hog fuel and pellets in water based heating systems. The combustion process itself proceeds through three elementarysteps; drying, where fuel moisture is driven off, followed by pyrolysis and finally combustion of the remaining charcoal. READ MORE

  2. 17. SiCFET gassensors : theory, developent, and applications to flue gas cleaning processes  in power plants

    University dissertation from Linköping : Linköping University Electronic Press

    Author : Zhafira Darmastuti; Linköpings universitet.; Linköpings universitet.; [2012]

    Abstract : Environmental and health concerns lead to stricter regulations on power plant emission. Sensors play an important role, not only as part of the process control to ensure that the effluent stays under the regulated values, but also to increase the pollution removal efficiency and to decrease the reagent consumption. 3. 18. Identification and origin of potential background carcinogens : endogenous isoprene and oxiranes, dietary acrylamide

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Department of Environmental Chemistry

    Author : Eden Tareke; Stockholms universitet.; Stockholms universitet.; [2003]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURAL SCIENCES Chemistry Environmental chemistry; NATURVETENSKAP Kemi Miljökemi; Environmental Chemistry; miljökemi;

    Abstract : The primary aims of this thesis are to discover carcinogens in the general population by identification of products of reaction with hemoglobin (Hb adducts) in blood from humans without known exposure, and tracing the origin of the adducts. Chemicals and/or their metabolites forming Hb adducts mostly also react with DNA and may thus cause mutations, a key event in carcinogenesis. READ MORE

  4. 19. Fischer-Tropsch synthesis from bio-syngas models over cobalt and cobalt-iron alumina supported catalysts

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Department of Environmental Chemistry

    Author : Dewi Tristantini; [2006]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fe:Co-ratio; Cobalt; Bio-syngas; Fe-Co bimetallic; Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis;

    Abstract : Fischer-Tropsch (FT) synthesis is a process in which synthesis gas (syngas), a mixture of H2 and CO, is converted into long chain hydrocarbons mainly over Co- or Fe-based catalysts. The FT synthesis requires an H2/CO molar ratio (usage ratio) of approximately 2.1 above the catalyst surface. If the inlet syngas H2/CO ratio is less than 2. READ MORE

  5. 20. Studies on preparation and properties of nanophase metal oxides

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Materialvetenskap

    Author : Tarja Turkki; KTH.; [1999]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This thesis is about science on an atomic scale - aninterdisciplinary approach to nanoparticles. Studies of thepreparation of nanoparticles using both physical and chemicalmethods are presented. Understanding and controlling factorsfor particle growth during synthesis are the keys to successfulfabrication of materials with tailored properties. READ MORE
