  1. 21. Studies on preparation and properties of nanophase metal oxides

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Materialvetenskap

    Author : Tarja Turkki; KTH.; [1999]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This thesis is about science on an atomic scale - aninterdisciplinary approach to nanoparticles. Studies of thepreparation of nanoparticles using both physical and chemicalmethods are presented. Understanding and controlling factorsfor particle growth during synthesis are the keys to successfulfabrication of materials with tailored properties. READ MORE

  2. 22. SiC based field effect sensors and sensor systems for combustion control applications

    University dissertation from Institutionen för fysik, kemi och biologi

    Author : Mike Andersson; Linköpings universitet.; Linköpings universitet.; [2007]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SiC; Field Effect Sensors; Combustion Control; NATURAL SCIENCES Physics Other physics; NATURVETENSKAP Fysik Övrig fysik;

    Abstract : Increasing oil prices and concerns about global warming have reinforced the interest in biofuels for domestic and district heating, most commonly through combustion of solid biomass like wood logs, hog fuel and pellets. Combustion at non-optimal conditions can, however, lead to substantial emissions of noxious compounds like unburned hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, and nitrogen oxides as well as the generation of soot. 3. 23. Studies of partial oxidation and combustion over heterogeneous catalysis by transient experiments

    University dissertation from Secretary, Dept. of Chem. Eng. II, P.O. Box 124, SE-22100 Lund

    Author : Andreas Hinz; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2001]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Catalytic combustion; Selective Oxidation; Sulphur dioxide; Ammonia; Methanol; Propane; Metal catalysts; Metal oxide catalysts; Transients; Simulation; Chemical technology and engineering; Kemiteknik och kemisk teknologi; Carbochemistry; petrochemistry; fuels and explosives technology; Petrokemi; bränslen; sprängämnen;

    Abstract : Transient experiments are one of many techniques available to study heterogeneous catalysis and the catalysts used. The results obtained by transient experiments contain valuable information that is helpful in explaining reaction mechanism and interaction at the catalytic surface. READ MORE
