  1. 1. Protein kinases and phosphatases in B-cell lymphoma

    Author : Marie Fridberg; Tumörmikromiljö; []
    Keywords : HePTP; PTEN; PKC-beta 2; B-cell; lymphoma; kinases; ZAP70; phosphatase; SHP2;

    Abstract : Around 2000 persons are diagnosed with lymphoma in Sweden each year. There are many subgroups described for this form of cancer and the great majority is derived from B-cells. The most common subgroup is Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), a highly aggressive disease where only half of the patients are cured. READ MORE

  2. 2. Studies on the Differential Specificity of Protein Kinases and Its Applications

    Author : Mart Loog; Bengt Jergil; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Biochemistry; Protein kinases; protein kinase inhibitors; substrate specificity; peptide libraries; affinity chromatography; Biokemi; Biochemistry; Biokemi; biokemi; Biochemistry;

    Abstract : Protein kinases are enzymes that catalyse the phosphoryl transfer from the g-phosphate of ATP to acceptor amino acids in proteins. The specificity of selected model protein kinases was studied at three different levels using a) novel bi-substrate-analogue inhibitors, b) synthetic peptide substrates and c) mutated protein substrate analogues. 3. 3. The Adenovirus L4-33K Protein : A Key Regulator of Virus-specific Alternative Splicing

    Author : Heidi Törmänen Persson; Göran Akusjärvi; Stefan Schwartz; Marie Öhman; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; L4-33K; adenovirus; splicing; phosphorylation; localization; replication centers; L4-22K; MLTU; DNA-PK; DNA-dependent protein kinase; PKA; cAMP-dependent protein kinase; transcription sites; SR protein; Medical Virology; Medicinsk virologi;

    Abstract : Adenoviruses have been extensively studied in the field of gene regulation, since their genes are subjected to a tightly controlled temporal expression during the virus lifetime. The early-to-late shift in adenoviral gene expression distinguishes two completely different programs in gene expression. READ MORE

  4. 4. Protein Interactions Involving the Laminin G-type Domains of Vitamin K-dependent Protein S

    Author : Petra Evenäs; Malmö Klinisk kemi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Klinisk kemi; Clinical chemistry; tyrosine phosphorylation.; Sky receptor; SHBG-like region; protein S; G domain; Gas6; Activated protein C; C4b-binding protein; Proteins; enzymology; Proteiner; enzymologi;

    Abstract : The studies described in this thesis focus on the involvement of the two laminin G-type domains of vitamin K-dependent protein S in various biological contexts. The G-type domains are located in the C-terminal sex-hormone-binding globulin (SHBG)-like region. READ MORE

  5. 5. Protein phosphorylation in plant mitochondria

    Author : André Struglics; Lund Ortopedi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; FoF1-ATPase; autophosphorylation; protein kinase activity; protein phosphorylation; Plant mitochondria; inner mitochondrial membrane; NDPK; Physiological biophysics; Växtfysiologi;

    Abstract : Protein phosphorylation in the subcompartments of plant mitochondria was investigated by labelling with [gamma-32P]ATP and by SDS-PAGE/autoradiography. About 20 proteins in inside-out inner mitochondrial membranes from potato tubers were phosphorylated by endogenous protein kinases when incubated with [gamma-32P]ATP. READ MORE
