1. Integration of Aqueous Two-Phase Systems into Recovery Processes for Biomolecules
Abstract : The main scope of this thesis has been to study and develop new purification methods and also to further develop existing methods for purification to enhance their efficacy. Important parameters in the development of the methods are that they should be suitable for scale-up and possible to be integrated into recovery processes. READ MORE

2. Evaluating Swedish seaweeds for biorefinery
Abstract : A sustainable future demands a transition from oil to biomass to produce fuels, chemicals, commodities, and energy. However, to generate the predicted amount of bioenergy required by 2050, all the biomass harvested today should be utilized. One type of biomass that has received relatively little attention is seaweeds. READ MORE

3. Amylopectin - Interactions with Lipids and Proteins
Abstract : Starch is a common ingredient in many products, influencing properties such as viscosity, stability, sensory properties and appearance. These properties and how they change with time in the process called retrogradation are dependent on the structure of starch and its interaction with other components such as lipids and proteins. 4. Proteins at interfaces : modelling of the residence time effect and experimental studies
Abstract : The residence time effect plays an important role in desorption phenomena at solid liquid interfaces. The objective of this work is to set up simple models to describe the dynamics of both adsorption and desorption of proteins on a solid surface. READ MORE

5. Proteins in Vacuo : Molecular dynamics studies of hen egg white lysozyme submitted to unfolding and relaxation conditions
Abstract : Electrically neutral and charged lysozyme molecules were studied with molecular dynamics (MD) techniques. Denaturation and renaturation conditions were simulated for the system in vacuo. Experimental observations of biomolecules in vacuo were related to the conformational space accessible under unfolding-relaxation conditions. READ MORE
