  1. 1. Development of Laser-Spectroscopic Techniques for New Detection Schemes in Combustion Diagnostics

    Author : Johan Zetterberg; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Laser-Spectroscopy; Laser Combustion Diagnostics; Rayleigh scattering; FRS; LIF; Polarization Spectroscopy; PS; IRPS;

    Abstract : The thesis work, aimed at the development of laser-spectroscopic detection schemes, consists of three parts, concerned with the development and application of different techniques. The development of UV filtered Rayleigh scattering (FRS) for thermometry and fuel/air ratio measurements, using a frequency tripled, single-longitudinal-mode alexandrite laser at ~254 nm together with an isotopically enhanced mercury filter, is examined first. 2. 2. Time-Resolved Spectroscopy for Pharmaceutical Applications

    Author : Christoffer Abrahamsson; Atomfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Elektromagnetism; optik; Near-infrared spectroscopy; Time-resolved spectroscopy; Pharmaceutical analysis; Multivariate data analysis; Electromagnetism; Light transport in turbid media; Photon migration; akustik; acoustics; optics;

    Abstract : The work presented in this thesis aims at improving spectroscopic techniques for analysis of pharmaceutical solids. This improvement is achieved by the combining and development of instrumentations and data evaluation tools from two research fields: the fields of near infrared spectroscopy and biomedical optics. 3. 3. Photoinduced Electron and Energy Transfer in Π-Conjugated Systems

    Author : Melina Gilbert Gatty; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; fs spectroscopy; exciton coupling; conjugated porphyrin oligomers; ps spectroscopy; molecular wire; electron transfer; conformational analysis; self‒assembly; anthracene dendrimers; energy transfer; fluorescence anisotropy;

    Abstract : Photosynthesis is a fascinating process that provides food and oxygen. In this thesis, focus is on understanding and controlling the early processes of photosynthesis, namely photoinduced energy and electron transfer. READ MORE

  4. 4. Energy migration and charge formation in conjugated polymers

    Author : Yuri Zaushitsyn; Kemisk fysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; magnetic resonance; relaxation; spectroscopy; Kondenserade materiens egenskaper:elektronstruktur; egenskaper elektriska; magnetiska och optiska ; supraledare; magnetisk resonans; spektroskopi; supraconductors; magnetic and optical properties; electrical; energy transfer; Physics; Fysik; Condensed matter:electronic structure; transient absorption spectroscopy; conjugated polymer; charge photogeneration;

    Abstract : The main part of the thesis is concerned with charge photogeneration in conjugated polymers. MeLPPP and POMeOPT films were investigated by transient absorption spectroscopy using different excitation photon energies and light intensities with and without an external electric field. 5. 5. Shining Light on Molecules : Electron Transfer Processes in Model Systems for Solar Energy Conversion Investigated by Transient Absorption Spectroscopy

    Author : Jens Föhlinger; Leif Hammarström; Davidsson Jan; Benjamin Dietzek; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; photophysics; photoinduced electron transfer; transient absorption spectroscopy; laser spectroscopy; solar energy conversion; p-type DSSCs; Charge separation; recombination; mesoporous NiO;

    Abstract : In the recent years, solar energy conversion has attracted a huge research interest due to the potential application for limiting the greenhouse effect. In many solar cells and solar fuel cells, understanding of charge transfer (CT) and recombination is important for future improvement of the overall efficiency. READ MORE
