  1. 1. Measurement and Control of Attosecond Light Fields

    Author : Erik Mansten; Atomfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Pulse characterization; Spectral signature; Two-color generation; Pulse compression; Attosecond pulse trains; High-order harmonics; Pulse shaping; Tunable; Fysicumarkivet A:2009:Mansten;

    Abstract : Attosecond pulses are used to study electron dynamics in atoms and molecules. In this thesis, schemes to control the generation of attosecond pulses and pulse-shaping techniques to compress the pulses are presented. Generation of attosecond pulses requires high intensity, which is reached by focusing a pulsed femtosecond laser. READ MORE

  2. 2. On the compression properties of paper - implications for calendering

    Author : Peter Rättö; KTH; []
    Keywords : calendering; compression; creep; density; finite element analysis; heat transfer coefficient; mechanical properties; temperature; thermal conductivity; viscoelasticity; z-direction;

    Abstract : The objective of this work was to study and describe thedeformation of paper in the thickness direction in a calendernip that in some cases was heated. The temperature distributionin the thickness direction was evaluated using modelexperiments. READ MORE

  3. 3. Sources and Diagnostics for Attosecond Science

    Author : Miguel Miranda; Atomfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Pulse Compression; High-order Harmonic Generation; Ultrafast; Ultrashort; Attosecond; Femtosecond; Pulse Characterization; Fysicumarkivet A:2012:Miranda;

    Abstract : Ultrafast science refers to physical events that happen on the femtosecond (1 fs=10^-15 s) and attosecond (1 as=10^-18 s) timescales. Generation of attosecond pulses is usually achieved by interacting high-intensity femtosecond pulses with matter (typically gases), in a process called high-order harmonic generation (HHG). 5. 5. Signal Processing Approaches for Interference Mitigation in Automotive Radar Systems

    Author : Muhammad Rameez; Mats Pettersson; Mattias Dahl; Saleh Javadi; Igal Bilik; Blekinge Tekniska Högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; automotive radar; autoregressive modeling; digital beamforming; interference mitigation; machine learning; mutual interference; pulse compression; radar signal processing; signal reconstruction; Systemteknik; Systems Engineering;

    Abstract : Modern vehicles have several autonomous and semi-autonomous features, such as adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, adaptive headlights, and automatic emergency braking, ensuring a safe and comfortable driving experience. The vehicles typically rely on different sensors to "see" their surroundings and make decisions accordingly. READ MORE
