  1. 1. Secondary chlorophyll a luminescence decay kinetics from green algae and higher plants : mechanisms and application

    Author : Lars-Göran Sundblad; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; luminescence; fluorescence; photosynthesis; far red; CO2 accumulation; S-states; QA; reverse coupling; qE; frost hardiness;

    Abstract : Barley protoplasts were shown to be a suitable experimental system for studies on the relative maximum during the decay of luminescence observed in most photosynthetic systems after excitation with far red light and in the presence of O2. The far red induced relative luminescencemaximum was shown to be a result of three coinciding events:*Randomization of the S-states of the water splitting system during illumination with far red light. Abstract : Many critical business scholars have disregarded sustainability standards and corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities as mere window dressing, operating as a smokescreen to hide illegitimate corporate practices. Others have pointed to these activities as hegemonic articulations, as a way to strengthen corporate alliances with and dominance over other actors in society. READ MORE

  3. 3. Dissecting the photosystem II light-harvesting antenna

    Author : Jenny Andersson; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Plant physiology; antisense; Arabidopsis thaliana; chlorophyll; carotenoid; feedback de-excitation; fitness; LHC; NPQ; photosynthesis; state transitions; xanthophyll; Växtfysiologi; Plant physiology; Växtfysiologi; Physiological Botany; fysiologisk botanik;

    Abstract : In photosynthesis, sunlight is converted into chemical energy that is stored mainly as carbohydrates and supplies basically all life on Earth with energy.In order to efficiently absorb the light energy, plants have developed the outer light harvesting antenna, which is composed of ten different protein subunits (LHC) that bind chlorophyll a and b as well as different carotenoids. 4. 4. Modeling and electrical characterization of Cu(In,Ga)Se2 and Cu2ZnSnS4 solar cells

    Author : Christopher Frisk; Charlotte Platzer-Björkman; Jörgen Olsson; Janez Krč; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : In this thesis, modeling and electrical characterization have been performed on Cu(In,Ga)Se2 (CIGS) and Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) thin film solar cells, with the aim to investigate potential improvements to power conversion efficiency for respective technology. The modeling was primarily done in SCAPS, and current-voltage (J-V), quantum efficiency (QE) and capacitance-voltage (C-V) were the primary characterization methods. READ MORE

  5. 5. Modelling and Degradation Characteristics of Thin-film CIGS Solar Cells

    Author : Ulf Malm; Marika Edoff; Lars Stolt; James R. Sites; Uppsala universitet; []

    Abstract : Thin-film solar cells based around the absorber material CuIn1-xGaxSe2 (CIGS) are studied with respect to their stability characteristics, and different ways of modelling device operation are investigated. Two ways of modelling spatial inhomogeneities are detailed, one fully numerical and one hybrid model. READ MORE
