  1. 1. Rethinking network management solutions : models, data-mining and self-learning

    Author : Stefan Wallin; Rolf Stadler; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Distribuerade datorsystem; Mobile and Pervasive Computing;

    Abstract : Network service providers are struggling to reduce cost while at the same time improving customer satisfaction. This thesis addresses three relevant underlying challenges to achievieng these goals: - managing an overwhelming flow of low-quality alarms - understanding the structure and quality of the delivered services - automation of service configurationAll of the these add to an operator's operational costs since manual work is required in order to understand the alarm and service status as well as for configuring new services. 2. 2. CARESCAPE OF BLUE-GREEN SOLUTIONS IN EVERYDAY LIFE : Exploring the socio-materiality of a landscape technology

    Author : Misagh Mottaghi; miljö boende Stad; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; affordance; blue-green solutions; everyday life; human-nonhuman; matters of care; multifunctionality; nature-based solutions; neighborhood; rhythm; urban design; urban open space; temporality; socio-ecological urbanism; STS; water;

    Abstract : This research explores how blue-green solutions (BGS) take part in various everyday situations in the Augustenborg neighborhood of Malmö, Sweden, where BGS were introduced over twenty years ago to control urban flooding. The research applies a relational perspective, looking at everyday life as something that is contextually formed and given meaning in relation to the socio-materiality of the environment. READ MORE

  3. 3. Multivariate spectroscopic methods for the analysis of solutions

    Author : Kent Wiberg; Sven Jacobsson; Lars Nørgaard; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemometrics; UV-Vis spectroscopy; Multivariate calibration; Lidocaine; Identity; Content; PLS; SIMCA; Non-column; Diode array UV spectroscopy; DAD; Control sample; High Capacity Analysis HCA ; Fluorescence spectroscopy; Albumin; Immunoglobulin G; HPLC-DAD; Prilocaine; Peak purity determination; PCA; PARAFAC; Partial separation; Curve resolution; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : In this thesis some multivariate spectroscopic methods for the analysis of solutions are proposed. Spectroscopy and multivariate data analysis form a powerful combination for obtaining both quantitative and qualitative information and it is shown how spectroscopic techniques in combination with chemometric data evaluation can be used to obtain rapid, simple and efficient analytical methods. 4. 4. Autonomous Lab-on-a-chip: solutions and fast prototyping tools

    Author : German Comina Bellido; Daniel Filippini; Edwin Jager; Anke Suska; Niels B. Larsen; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Autonomous Lab-on-a-chip; bio-chemical sensing; sensor fabrication; biosensing cell phone; 3D printed fluidics; 3D printed optics.;

    Abstract : In this thesis, solutions for the development of autonomous Lab-on-a-chip (LOC), and 3D printing for fast prototyping of LOC devices are investigated. Lab-on-a-chip devices integrate analytical systems and conditioning processes in a compact package. READ MORE

  5. 5. Core Acquisition Management in Remanufacturing : Current Status and Modeling Techniques

    Author : Shuoguo Wei; Ou Tang; Erik Sundin; Jan Olhager; Moritz Fleischmann; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Core acquisition; remanufacturing; closed-loop supply chain; quantitative modeling; return uncertainties;

    Abstract : Remanufacturing is an important product recovery option that benefits our sustainable development. Cores, i.e. the used products/parts, are essential resources for remanufacturing. READ MORE
