16. Hadronization Effects in the Strong Interaction
Abstract : Different hadronization effects in high energy interactions are investigated. The frame-work is the Lund model for the strong interaction. A model for baryon production in jet fragmentation is presented and extended to baryon remnant fragmentation in deep inelastic scattering and hadron--hadron collisions. READ MORE

17. Quantum Chemical Modeling of Phosphoesterase Mimics and Chemistry in Confined Spaces
Abstract : In this thesis, density functional theory is employed in the study of two kinds of systems that can be considered to be biomimetic in their own ways. First, three binuclear metal complexes, synthesized by the group of Prof. Ebbe Nordlander, have been investigated. READ MORE

18. Three Pion Interferometry in the NA44 Experiment
Abstract : This thesis presents a three-particle correlation analysis with pions originating from Sulphur-Lead and Lead-Lead collisions at 200 and 158 GeV/c per nucleon respectively, taken by the CERN heavy-ion experiment NA44. The genuine three-body correlation is suppressed in both colliding systems which indicates that the particle production source is partly coherent. READ MORE

19. Luminosity evaluation and fragmentation studies for the DELPHI experiment at LEP
Abstract : The first subject addressed in this thesis is the contribution of the VSAT luminosity to the lineshape analysis, i.e. to the extraction of the mass and width of the Z0 boson from LEP1 DELPHI data. The VSAT detector has contributed to the lineshape parameter determination by providing a relative luminosity measurement of high accuracy. READ MORE

20. Chemistry and Physics of Cu and H2O on ZnO Surfaces : Electron Transfer, Surface Triangles, and Theory
Abstract : This thesis discusses the chemistry and physics of Cu and H2O on ZnO surfaces, based primarily on results from quantum chemical calculations. The underlying context is heterogeneous catalysis, where Cu/ZnO-mixtures are used in the industrial synthesis of methanol and in the water gas shift reaction. READ MORE
