  1. 1. Dynamics and Extreme Value Problems for Moored Floating Platforms

    Author : Yungang Liu; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; quasi-static; frequency-domain; extreme value; convolution; floating platform; low-frequency; time-domain; mooring cable; wave-frequency;

    Abstract : This research deals with the dynamic response analyses and extreme value problems of moored floating platforms. It can be divided into three major subjects: first, the analysis of single cables and cable induced mooring damping; second, the dynamic analysis of the moored platforms, with special emphasis on the damping mechanisms and generation of the low-frequency excitation force time series; and third, the extreme wave-frequency responses and the combination of the low-frequency and wave-frequency extreme responses. 3. 3. Efficient PEEC-based solver for complex electromagnetic problems in power electronics

    Author : Danesh Daroui; Bruce Archambeault; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Industriell elektronik; Industrial Electronics;

    Abstract : The research presented in this thesis discusses an electromagnetic (EM) analysis tool which is based on the partial element equivalent circuit (PEEC) method and is appropriate for combined EM and circuit simulations especially power electronics applications. EM analysis is important to ensure that a system will not affect the correct operation of other devices nor cause interference between various electrical systems. READ MORE

  4. 4. Co-Simulation of Coupled Electromagnetic and Nonlinear Circuit Problems using the Partial Element Equivalent Circuit Method

    Author : Sohrab Safavi; Wil Schilders; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Industriell elektronik; Industrial Electronics;

    Abstract : Co-simulation of coupled electromagnetic (EM) structures and linear/nonlinear circuits has become a major demand in today's engineering. In many disciplines such as antenna engineering, microwave circuit design, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and even fairly low-frequency power electronic systems, simulation techniques capable of incorporating both EM structures and lumped circuit elements have become a necessity. 5. 5. Singular Integral Equations: Applications to Elasticity and Numerical Solution

    Author : Jonas Englund; Matematik LTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Datalogi; numerisk analys; system; kontroll; fracture mechanics; second kind integral equation; Nyström scheme; Computer science; control; systems; numerical analysis;

    Abstract : The purpose of this thesis is to develop stable, accurate, and efficient numerical algorithms for the solution of certain problems in materials science using integral equations. All the appearing integral equations are of the second kind. Such equations are typically well suited for numerical solution. READ MORE
