It describes the ways in which English colour terms may be used to refer to nuances outside their normal area of designation and to attributes outside the colour domain. READ MORE

2. Magnetic resonance imaging with ultrashort echo time as a substitute for X-ray computed tomography
Abstract : Radiotherapy dose calculations have evolved from simple factor based methods performed with pen and paper, into computationally intensive simulations based on Monte Carlo theory and energy deposition kernel convolution.Similarly, in the field of positron emission tomography (PET), attenuation correction, which was originally omitted entirely, is now a crucial component of any PET reconstruction algorithm. 3. Congenital upper limb anomalies : studies of epidemiology and hand function
Abstract : Objectives: This thesis has three interrelated aims. (1) To describe the epidemiology of congenital upper limb anomalies (CULA) in Stockholm County, Sweden, in order to augment the few existing population studies of CULA (paper I); (2) To measure the incidence of different categories of CULA while using and evaluating a recently proposed new classification scheme (Oberg, Manske and Tonkin (OMT) Classification) based on more current knowledge of limb development than the previously used International Federation of Societies for Surgery of the Hand (IFSSH) Classification is based on (paper II); and (3) To investigate the relationship between measurements of body function and structure with both activity and participation in children and adults with radial longitudinal deficiency (RLD) by using the International Classification of Functioning and Health (ICF) framework, in order to shed light on what aspects of physical limb function and structure actually affect individuals’ daily life activity (papers III and IV). 4. Passenger assessments of quality in local public transport- measurement, variability and planning implications
Abstract : The aim of this work was to get a more detailed basis for planning of local public transport. With more knowledge of how segments of travellers assess different parts of a journey, bus routes can be planned to fit either all passengers or selected groups better. READ MORE

5. New ultrasonographic approaches to monitoring cardiac and vascular function
Abstract : Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death worldwide. To decrease mortality and morbidity in cardiovascular disease, the development of accurate, non-invasive methods for early diagnosis of atherosclerotic cardiac and vascular engagement is of considerable clinical interest.
